I've volunteered for the Special Olympics and personally raised several thousand dollars over the years. I grew up working with special needs kids and had family members who ran day centers for those with developmental delays for decades.
The government has no business funding the special olympics. Cuts need to be made everywhere, hopefully this is just the start.

Special Olympics is a private charitable organization that is more than capable of raising their own funding through charitable donations and corporate sponsorships. Taxpayers shouldnt be subsidizing charities to the extent we currently do

And there's a huge difference between cutting funding to a disaster government agency (which is bloated) and cutting government funding to charity (which is an entirely noble charity that i've personally donated to... along with Betsy Devoss to the tune of $50,000. 50k is her... not me.

Whoever included this in the budget proposal is a moron. It will never be included in an actual budget passed by Congress, so why take the PR hit? Maybe Trump just likes watching DeVos squirm....
$15m is so far down the list to where cuts should be made its absurd. If the deficit is an issue, also shouldn’t be cutting revenue, but we did just that a year ago
