Personally I don’t give a damn about most of it. But if you’re cutting funding why not slice through foreign aide to those back-stabbing bastards. And terminate ALL funding for NEA and PBS. Sometimes they have some good stuff but most is just pinko stuff.

Explain why they need government funding.
I believe they could hold a fundraiser and they'd pull in way more money than the fed are taking from us.

I think it is programs with special education get funding that works with the special Olympics.

The funding is for developmental programs in schools. The Special Olympics’ overall funding will still largely come from philanthropic and corporate donations.
Budget proposals from the executive branch are meant to be used as an outline, which Congress almost always ignores.
Proposing cuts to programs such as this are generally meant to highlight budget deficits and overspending, thus the need for “difficult decisions.”
Given that this wouldn’t even pass under an all-Republican Congress, this is a non-story.

There are thousands of foundations who give a combined 3 billion dollars per year to non-profits. Special Olympics should do what every other non-grant does by writing proposals for funding. This is not the federal government's responsibility.
