OP....how much did you donate to the Special Olympics over the years

Volunteered one year at the Indiana Special Olympics. Also got a special needs child interested in swimming by mentoring and now is on a swim team and competes nationally at meets.

Edit:

What's funny is that I can't find a single bit of info on how much money is donated to the Special Olympics.

Googled it using a few different variations and nothing. Weird.

You are just like the idiots who screamed and yelled that the government wanted to kill big bird even though they can fund themselves fully.

The reason we are never able to cut spending is because of idiots like you.

When you consider everything that federal funds are spent on, there are many other areas they should cut back on first.

I am a personal supporter of Special Olympics however I don't think the government should be funding any special group.

By the way why is NPR still supported????

And terminate ALL funding for NEA and PBS.
They tried.

Then dumbasses like the OP screamed to the high heavens that the government wanted to kill big bird and burn down Sesame Street, even though they pull in over $100 million in revenue.

They can’t see the forest for the trees.

So, they pull in over $100 million and a reduction in the federal grants due to cuts throughout programs within the DOE is making everyone here freak out?

We will never be able to cut any government spending.

They really need to reduce the number of individuals allowed to vote, starting with banning the OP from elections.

We need to cut funding to EVERY part of government and EVERY handout. But, it'll never happen because of bs headlines like this.

Once government gives money for something, it can never stop it or even lower funding. Apparently the only option is to give more every year. frick that.

My thought is that it’s not the Fedgovs place to fund things like this. The whole Dept of Ed needs to be nixed

and why is this wrong? We don't need more starving artists with autism. we need productive, capable workers.
Think of all the OweOs we are funding.

I'd love to know the amount of federal dollars that are wasted by companies that have federal contracts alone. When "the government is paying for it" people have a whole different mindset.

Does anyone stop to consider that maybe these organizations are over-funded? And that by cutting some funding, they would then be in line with what they should be receiving in the first place?

Of course people do. They're just assholes looking to start shite.
