I feel for their loss, but these people are trying to destroy the entire Greek system in Louisiana m, because their son joined a loser fraternity.

They lost a child. They don't care about the Greek system or destroying it. Why should they?

They'll never get the kind of money they're asking for, but I'm guessing there will be a settlement. I don't think any defendants want the facts coming out at trial, win or lose.

If they win, I doubt they get the full $25 million. I do agree that their needs to be more accountability and responsibility. Frats get away with a lot. Not saying all Frats are bad. I have several great friends that were in Frats and didn’t have any issues while they were at LSU.

yeah so did I. And there was certainly never anything they did that would’ve potentially killed me? How about you?

This. We had one tool who was always a ringleader in bullshite for us to do. Most everyone told him to frick off...we may have had to do 50 pushups bc of it, but it was better than the shite he thought we were gonna do.

Really? Why have they been all over the news getting laws passed here in La? They’ve taken every chance they get to bash the university and the Greek system as a whole not just that shite fraternity.

Well in this case, there was, and that’s a pretty damn big problem. So maybe some changes should be made instead of just blaming the kid that died.

I just can't get over how damn dumb you have to be to force someone to drink Everclear.

Almost as dumb as the guy who drinks the Everclear. He was a willing volunteer in the stupidity.

I believe you misread what I wrote. My point was that they don't care if they destroy the Greek system etc... Why should they? They lost a child and that's what they care about. Taking down the frat or frats would be fine with them.

Despite what non-Greek affiliated people say, having a strong Greek life is very important to the University's health.

There is zero correlation between % Greek population of a student body and annual donations to that university. Hell, UT Austin is one of the richest universities in the world, taking in way more in annual donations than LSU, and less than 5% of the student body is Greek. Sorry, but your point is simply wrong.

It’s both. They can’t force you to do anything you don’t want to, and they shouldn’t be encouraging dangerous behavior.

LSU will never let it get to that point. They will settle. Can't risk establishing a legal precedent for this type of thing. The parents will get several million and everyone will call it a day. It is a travesty all around.

Yeah, there won’t be a good outcome. For anyone. Hopefully, guys will learn from this and refrain for taking things too far.

When I was an undergrad in the early 00's half of all donations to LSU came from Greeks. Granted I am sure that is from some major donors but it is still significant. I do not know if that still stands but it is significant.

In the years preceding Max’s death, LSU received so many credible complaints of

national headquarters in addressing the misconduct.
