My wife asked two family members on her side who are both nurses and they both recommended to take him to the ER given that it was a head injury, so it wasn’t just the teacher recommending it.

Jesus, pay the bill and forget about it. Why would you want this hanging around with your kid his entire school career assuming the kids will be in school together. Unless it’s some serious injuries that cause tons of bills, just pay the damn ER and move on.

You needed a doctor to tell you this?

school is responsible, it happened under their watch

I bet they didn't even fill out an injury and accident report for their files.

go talk to the school administrator, they would much rather pay Jaxson's $350 medical bill, than to lose you as a $6,000 per year paying customer/parent .

You don’t have insurance?

If there was no stitches, how much are you trying to get covered? A $20 copay?

I would make the school cover the cost. I feel for the parents of the other kid, they got a hard row. I guess it would depend on the specifics of the personalities involved but I don't think I would want to make their life any harder if they seem like good and nice people. Now if they are assholes about it, that might change my opinion.

Because his parents need to realize that their son is a danger to other kids and me just paying the bill lets them continue to deny reality.

School has said that this kid can’t come back until he has behavior therapy.

You took the advice of teachers and nurses?

This is more of a general grant question

Based on the teachers recommendation

Those pre school teachers are highly educated and can give great medical advice. Good thing you took her expert opinion and took him to an ER, where he didn't even need stitches.

I have Anthem insurance, but an ER visit is like $1,000 in case you haven’t realized how insane our medical billing system is.

You need to suck it up and pay yourself. You deserve it for not being intelligent enough to assess whether this “injury” warranted a trip to the ER. It is not at all hard to figure that out on your own.

Is this true there? Around here, any place decent has a long waiting list and they would move on from you with no issue at all.

My son is in preschool and another kid with a history of behavior issues threw a metal water bottle at my son’s face (who was just standing there and did nothing to provoke the attack). Based on the teachers recommendation, we took him to the ER but doctor said he probably didn’t need stitches.

I think it’s only fair to ask the other kids parents to reimburse us for the medical bill. What says the OT?

That's crazy to hold the parents accountable for injuries gotten at a PRESCHOOL from another preschooler. Is this a preschool or is this three fat chicks in Watson who say they are a "preschool"? Did you leave your kid in the care of the other parents? There are so many questions you should be asking before you approach another 3 year olds parents man.

That's crappy insurance. Mine has been $100 for awhile.

Taking legal advice from a preschool teacher is the saddest thing I've seen here in a while.

Ask the preschool, in writing, to reimburse you.

The school is responsible for your kid's safety, and your request could put heat on the other kid's parents to either resolve those issues or get him out of that school.

My wife took him to the ER before she even let me know what had happened (that’s a whole ‘nother topic haha).

1) No

2) This is an urgent care visit NOT an ER visit
