No matter what we do about pollution, if you don't stop China, India, Africa, etc. from just wholesale dumping their crap into the rivers and oceans...it's all for naught.

I think it's absolutely terrible that a straw got stuck in that turtles nose and it looked like it hurt like hell for them to get it out.
But what are the chances of that happening again?

Plastics in the ocean are a problem worthy of addressing. Stop being a fat slob and eating takeout all the time and you won’t use so much plastic.

It’s all due to the turtle photo op. North America accounts for 4.5% of ocean plastic and most of that isn’t from the USA. From the USA a lot of that stems from places like California that drain stormwater straight into the ocean. Anyone actually wanting to help the issue would focus on Asia where they have no problem dumping their trash, some of it sold to them by countries like the USA, straight into the ocean.
