It was the culture that gave you the sads wasn't it. It happens to me too.

The people of Louisiana are great, will always help each other out, and show great hospitality.

Louisiana’s frickin awesome. No place is perfect
There are a few, a FEW, corners in the state that are decent and clean but majority of the state is a dump with crap roads, corruption, and idiots everywhere with no desire to better themselves.

That's plenty enough for me. If it's not for you, then go on and get da frick out.
Trust me, that's in the works. Also, Louisiana losing people like my family are not what it needs. You know, my wife and I are good income earners (i.e. tax payers for this state) and our children have so far excelled in school (and will not be attending LSU).

Seems like every time I come back from vacation, as soon as I cross the LA state line it starts raining

Mine attended college here on tops/scholarships then moved away and are not moving back. That is why we no longer have a reason to stay.

Louisiana would be a much better place were it not for the shitbags and bad politicians. Other than that, no real complaints.....

Louisiana isn’t as bad as this board makes it seem. The schools and crime are slightly worse than most places but not by a large margin the way people act.
Living in the Covington/Mandeville area wouldn’t be bad at all. You get to go to LSU events, Nola events without having to live in either city. Good fishing and decent hunting. You also have easy access to the nice panhandle beaches. Same for Lafayette. Aside from those two locations it would take a very cushy job and a big chunk of land to draw me back.

There’s a pretty simple solution to that feeling, should you choose it.
It’s hilarious the way people make it sound like it’s so easy.

Exactly. They talk like moving states is as easy as choosing a restaurant.

So move. A lot of us have done it.

So how is my simple question a "perfect depiction of why LA never improves"?
“Either refuse to point out how much needs to be fixed or abandon this place to waller in its own shite”.

There is no doubt that the trash on the side of the road and the decrepit signs and potholes start immediately at all state lines. I20 seems to have the trash collected a little better but not by much.

Eh I live in Rural Louisiana and I’m currently sitting on my porch. Nothing but beautiful scenery around me. You strike me as the kind that wouldn’t be happy anywhere

It pretty much is.. IF you are a ‘can-do’ person who is forward thinking . There are exactly zero laws prohibiting US citizens moving from one state to another.. I call it ‘passive complaining’, where people dont go out and seize opportunities in other places, they just continue to bitch about the millions of shortcomings where they are.. and i know LOTS of people from Louisiana who do it, just thankful im not one of them .

I solved that problem. I own a home in NW Florida.

Not really - it depends on the circumstances and what line of work you’re in - and what you’re doing at the present moment

Congratulations?
You’re now part of the problem, though.
