Watched my dad and 2 Aunts get into a HUGE argument at a family Thanksgiving dinner when I was 15. We wound up leaving early that day.
We were a close knit family and they were arguing over how expensive all of the Christmas gift requests were that year. My Aunts both owned very successful businesses. My Dad busted his arse to earn good money as I got older but at that time, we were scraping by.
They called him cheap, selfish, and spoiled. Dad got ROASTED by both of his sisters, their husbands, and his mom. All because he didn't think it was right to be pressured to buy $100+ gifts for each of my 6 cousins, 2 Aunts, and 2 Uncles.
Imagine that, you broach a sensitive subject and then every loved one besides your wife destroys you for it. He never fully recovered from that day. Now twenty years later, the relationship has deteriorated to the point that he has not spoken to his sisters in 15 years.
It really is a damn shame.

My side of the family we have never had issues..My wife (no pics) is Mexican. Her uncles (especially the one that still lives in Juarez) usually get bombed, start fights then usually end the night listening to some Mexican song that makes them cry. I just sit back and laugh.

I think that's staged. They have a lot of videos out there of that family fighting. A lot of the situations seem contrived. I think they just do it for the YouTube fame and ad money.

Not really a family meltdown at all but still funny.
My brother called 911 on Easter Sunday when we were kids. He kept saying "I'm gonna call 991. I'm gonna call 991" so no one actually thought he was really going to call the right number. All the kids were in a room while the adults were hiding easter eggs...and he called and said "I'm locked in a room please help me" and hung up. The police came out and it was a big ordeal. Little fricker never called 911 again.

We always go to my Dad's brothers' house for Thanksgiving. His second wife has a borderline trashy daughter who has a full-on trashy boyfriend/baby daddy. (My cousins despise her). That Thanksgiving we had a good turn-out w all my Dad's siblings together for first time in years. It was really a lovely dinner, truly: After dinner my uncle was getting misty eyed and choked up as he made a little speech about how proud he was, loves his family etc. it was really sweet - cause he's usually a pretty gruff guy - tears in everybody's eyes... THEN the stepsister's trashy BD starts complaining how no one bothered to show up for the cook-out that they threw when he was recently released from prison. (yes, prison) Blabbing on about no happy tears for him, his girlfriend jumps in w a bunch a frick-yeas you snobby a holes. She starts screaming at my uncle, his daughters start screaming at her, momma jumps on her step-kids. It was sickening. Truly disgusting - especially since it was my Dad's last Thanksgiving...

One cousin had recently divorced her husband (who was friends with a few of her male cousins), and decided it would be a good idea to bring the guy she left her husband for to the Christmas gathering. One of the ex-husband's friends (a male cousin) called the new boyfriend a home wrecker, and then stormed out.
It was childish and embarrassing, but that cousin is a whore and probably deserved it.
