We stayed in Homewood and it was nice.

The neighborhood around the Southern Museum of Flight was very reminiscent of North BR

Enjoyed the area though.

I don't want to brag on them too much, but even the SWB did pretty fricking good.

I think NO got about 5 to 6 inches of rain. Is that a good “test”? Original projections were something like 8-12, potentially 15 inches or even more.

My brook is quite nice but it cannot be compared to New Orleans since the cultures are miles apart.
Mt brook is heavy baptist suburban.
Nola heavy catholic and strong urban.

It’s apples and oranges.

Do it and don’t look back. I got tired of running from hurricanes. Moved from La 10 years ago and couldn’t be happier

I moved to mountain Brook back in 2013 and never looked back. The wife and I absolutely love it here and while Louisiana will always be home, we have no plans going back. All of our family that visits here love it.

Mountain Brook is extremely nice.

Lots of money required to hang with the Jones’s so you better be able to ball.

You can compare them with regards to quality of life for a young family. Also, MB is like 2-3 miles from downtown Birmingham. It's far more of an urban area than the Northshore. It's way closer to downtown than Lakeview is in Nola.

It definitely rained more than 5-6 inches in New Orleans. It rained for 12 hours straight.

The best part of MB is the really low house prices!

Go visit historic Legion Field. It’s better at night.

Mtn Brook is more old money Presbyterian or Episcopalian. Also it is not true suburban. Mtn Brook and Homewood are right over the mountain from downtown less than a couple miles away. True suburban Baptist culture Birmingham would be out in Hoover, Chelsea, Pelham, Helena, etc.

I evacuated from BR to Huntsville after it was apparent I wasn't getting power back anytime soon.

So much nicer here.

NOLA is one of the shittiest places in the country. Pretty much anywhere you go is going to be better. Way better. Leave and don't look back.
