I’m from Mountain Brook. It’s ok. Glad I left though. I prefer NOLA.

Birmingham's southern suburbs might be some of the best living in the country. The city of Birmingham is basically a bigger/slightly better Jackson though.

My wife is from Mnt Brook and I’m glad we don’t live there. We compromised with Vestavia and it’s been great for us.

Oh come on. Downtown football and baseball stadiums. Breweries on every corner. Music venues all over. World-class restaurants everywhere.

We did too! Are you staying at the Hampton Inn Mountain Brook? All Louisiana ppl here. And agreed, it’s a wonderful area.

Yes sir. We’re at the Hampton Inn in Mountainbrook.

I can’t compliment this small city enough. We got the kids to bed and we’re scrolling through the realtor app to check price ranges.

If it weren’t for our friends in Nola, I think we could easily cut ties. I work from home and could easily make the switch.

Our 7 year old doesn’t like the idea at all. The 5 and 3 year olds don’t care.

I hear ya. If not for family, I doubt we'd stay in Louisiana at all.

Living in Nola is like living in an unflushed toilet bowl.

Good one man, very original. I’m sure all of TD loved it. You sure did, evidenced by your laughing face you added.

But actually, living in most urban areas in America leads to some of these problems. In Lakeview, unless you listen to those who need to just move away, or those who don’t even live here, it isn’t that bad. Yes, occasionally it happens. Kind of like overdoses and domestic murders in other places.

Mountain Brook/ Homewood is a great area. My daughter lived there for 4 years. Low crime. Low taxes
Good public schools. Clean city. Great medical center.
Good nightlife.

I read shite on this board that I never heard anywhere. This board is its own world.

80% of the posters on this board is like... If you had 200 groups of 10 and you took that one person in each group who is a little off.. always complains about stupid shite.. That one person that the other 9 wouldn't be mad if they left..

In other words, 80% of this board is made up of the 10% of people no one wants to be around (yeah I know and no one wants me around so I am one of them.. blah blah blah).

I try to be. Of course I am not always right, but I encourage others to be deep thinkers as well,

Beware of the Brookies—it’s Birmingham’s version of Stepford. Lots of other nice places around though!

B’ham is actually more Atlanta 50 years ago than Jackson. It’s trying to update but a lot of the over-the-mountain places are holding it back. Nashville, Charlotte, Atlanta, Jacksonville all decided to be one city. B’ham & OTM is a lot like NOLA & Metairie—part of the same metro but worlds apart and will never get together on anything.

Gf and I stayed in Hoover a few nights for the Bama game in 19, it's like a cleaner, fresher, Baton Rouge from there all the way to Tuscaloosa. Shops, food, and roads were all great tbh
