Go ahead and stay there. I’m sure some young family would feel fortunate to buy your Lakeview home.

Lol

The levees held from a cat 4 hurricane

Why would this be the final straw. No one in my circles are talking about leaving.

After 8 days, I can without a doubt say that this little piece of Birmingham is better than anything Nola has to offer.

Hope you stay

I haven’t heard or read anyone say they were leaving after this event.

This was a good test and so far the Parish and metro area has a passing grade in my book.

I rode around Uptown quite a bit today and the tree companies and electrical companies are doing work. It’s quite impressive.

I don't want to brag on them too much, but even the SWB did pretty fricking good.

If you would have said part of the metro area would be without water and boiling water if they could get it, no one would have guessed Kenner brah as that location.

Most of the Bham suburbs are very nice. I lived in Vestavia for a few years and loved everything except the traffic.

I mean you are talking about one of the highest per capita income zip codes in all of the South, but yes, Mountain Brook and Homewood in Birmingham are excellent places to live. If I'm going to pay 700k for a 2,500 sq ft house, I'd rather it be in a place like that than in NOLA.

Yeah, Downtown Bham will feel like you’re in the Lower 9th Ward

However UAB has a very nice campus in the middle of a shithole

Not really. True downtown Bham is much improved since the 90's with nice restaurants, bars, hotels, a brand new baseball and football stadium, etc.

Just west of downtown, around Legion Field is more like NOLA.

So you're trying to tell us that a wealthy area is nice to live in? I don't believe you.

Honest question here, I haven't been following the news in Baton Rouge. What did she do that impressed you?

When they spend a couple weeks somewhere else and realize NOLA is a shithole with a famous name.

If nobody in any of your circles is talking about moving, you might want to consider hanging out with smarter people.
