Does anyone know how the council vote works for approval of the tax? Does it have to be unanimous?
Well hopefully when it comes back up for approval by the metro council, it will get voted down. I don't think it has to be unanimous, just majority.

The only way my company would send 5 people would be if we were exhibiting at the conference sponsor area.
If it's educational, you send 2 max and they come back and teach.

The walkout of black council members during the delay vote is a implicit admission that EBRCOA is never getting that money.

It's also an implicit admission that they don't know the rules too. No surprise there.

really sad time in Louisiana, all the corruption at the highest levels of government in both BR and NOLA, all the while the highest level of government in the state is just silent about what is going on in his state.

I'm sure the corruption was far worse in the past, but at least they were kinda covert and smart about it. These people overtly and clumsily engage in it and truly don't think it's wrong.

unfortunately, unless enough of the public shows outrage about it, nothing will be done about it. The more of these inexperienced, poorly educated blacks with an agenda are elected on the Democratic ticket, the more corruption will take place. When caught, just like the CoA they will throw their hands in the air and cry they didn't know any better, blame others, and say we are being racist.

The public is showing outrage about it and are then accused of being racists. Denise Marcelle got up and accused the DA of not caring about possible corruption in another parish despite the fact that he has zero jurisdiction over them. No one put political partisans and those who stand to make money from the new COA funding will be defending these people. Hell, even leaders from other COA's in the state are against TCA and crew.

Can't say I'm shocked she doesn't know the powers/limitations of a parish's District Attorney.
