Has anybody actually ever tried this? My dad told me people used to do this. Is it just a bunch of redneck rubish?

Do it and report your findings.

One way for you to find out (both if it’s true and if your dad loves you)

I don’t know, man. I’ve eaten lots of pussy and yet it’s still the cause of a lot of pain in my life.

Why stop there?
Try eating snake venom.

Works the same with arsenic. You just have to eat an amount just less than lethal. You survive, and arsenic isn’t poisonous to you anymore.

Absolutely. Although growing up we mixed it with spinach, tomatoes, and cucumbers to make a nice summer salad.
I prefer a vinaigrette with my Ivy.

If you kill yourself you will be immune from being killed in the future

Why would eating it make you immune? That doesn't make sense. You have to rub it all over your body to get immune, especially your arse and balls.

I dunno about eating it, but luckily I've always been immune.
I grew up in the 60's and 70's and we pretty much grew up outside climbing trees and stuff. My siblings and cousins would get it, but I never did.

You weren't your dad's kid.

A professor friend at a land grant university (He's a full professor with lots of experience in AG fields) has told us about how he became immune. He started by growing poison ivy in one of his labs over winter and wiping a small amount on his skin every so often. I've seen him eat it out in the field in one of his test plots and he seems to have found something that works for him.

I used to hear that eating the berries was the trick.
I don't know. I'm allergic and have had it dozens of times.

My brother and i had it so much as kids that after a certain amount of time i believe we became immune to getting it. Could walk right thru it and not get it. I would not test that theory now since it has been a few decades since i had it

I'm highly allergic to poison ivy. Eating it would result in, at minimum, a hospital visit. Maybe even a painful, rattling last breath. Hey, Aqualung.

If you try it let us know what the Darwin Award looks like.

People also used to take cocaine as a toothache remedy.
