Hassan is partially right. The real way it works is the people of means who do not want to give up their means are made to watch their families be raped and executed by the people of means who want communism and then are murdered themselves. I think the goal of any war is to get something out of it if you win. If you bomb everything, it makes the resources you win more expensive than the cost of the war.
