re: Drunk or not? Four drinks, four hours

I’ve passed a field sobriety test after 4 vodka sodas in 2 hours. 1 light beer an hour is nothing.

Should be fine, but that’s gonna be real close to the line of the crazy low .08 blood level that’ll get ya.

What if your Uber driver got distracted and hit someone when you know you were more than good enough to drive after 2 beers and would not have gotten distracted and hit someone because you don't text and drive? Then where is the guilt?
Maybe you should just stay home every day. The world is a scary place.

I can only offer my anecdotal evidence. I’ was more in line with 220 but I consumed 6 beers starting at 6:30, ate dinner at beginning and didn’t drink for the last 1.5 hr while at a concert… I was pulled for filling a stop sign a block from home at midnight, only given the eye test, taken to the station and blew a .031..
Oddly enough the cop also got another guy who rode down to the station with me…. He was driving to the bar after his rehearsal dinner. He didn’t fair so well blowing a .16

Probably ok, but it all depends on your metabolism at the time I'm sure. I preach this to my kids all the time - when they get older and start driving, make damn sure there's no possibility that if pulled over, they won't blow over the legal limit, which could be easier than they think.

Assume you did the training as well??
That was a fun day in college.
DUI training for local PD.
Locked 8 of us (2 non-drinkers) in a hotel suite with an open bar for an hour. 'Bartenders' (cops) recorded each drink and did a BAC after each. I went over .08 after my 3rd in under an hour. Was .12 after 4 I think. Highest someone got in our group was like .22
After the hour, they brought us out for training and cops performed sobriety tests. Everyone passed every test except the flashlight test. Everyone failed that, even the controls. The flashlight test is just an excuse for a cop to fail you if they want to. "Oops, your eyeball twitched when I shined this bright light in it, you're drunk"

If you habe to ask, call an uber

Your graph is 4 hours since first drink, not from most recent drink. Unless I'm reading it wrong.

But it's all 4 beers at time=0, since 1 light beer isn't getting a 200lb person above .08 bac

Risk probability / Impact
If impact is low or you have little to lose, you are probably right.
If impact could be catastrophic and / or you have much to lose, you are not right.
Tell me you don’t work in oil & gas industry without telling me you don’t work in oil & gas industry…

BAC calculator puts a 200lb person at 0.026 after 4 beers in 4 hours
Posted on 5/8/26 at 11:38 am to The Mick
I see your point. Assuming he's drinking at a steady rate over 4 hours, it won't be off by much at all.

Depends on your liver and blood volume.
Mine is good four two high proof pours an hour. 3 if it's garbage water.
High blood volume, high liver function due to an over consumption of choline.

You won't be over the legal limit, but you can still be charged with a DUI and have your next few months and bank account ruined as you fight the system. It all depends on the mood of the officer.

Why bother?
Either drink like a man (and DD home) or don’t.

I definitely wouldn’t get behind the wheel.

Not even close to being drunk. BAC may even register as 0.0
