I am genuinely curious on people's opinions on this topic. I think we can all agree that leaving poop in someone's yard is a no go and should be punishable by death.

BUT

What about picking up the poop and putting the poop bag in someone else's trash can?

I see the argument for both sides:

Trash Can Owner: doesn't want someone else using their trash can and maybe in the summer the smell could be bad.

Dog Owner: Doesn't want to walk around with a bag of poop and one tiny bag of poop isn't going to affect the amount of trash that anyone can put in their can.

What is the OT's opinion? Is it ok to put a bag of dog poop in someone else's trash can?

If tomorrow is trash day and the can is by the road, I'll drop the bag in while I walk the dog. Any other time I hold onto it until I get home and use my own trash can.

If it’s trash day and the trash hasn’t come yet - I’m dropping it in someone’s can.

When I was a little kid a bunch of us were tussling in the yard. Somebody landed in a pile of dogshit, threw up, and caused a chain reaction. It was awesome.

This. Carry the bag home and throw it in your own garbage can.

Why do I care if someone throws it in my garbage can? I am just glad they are picking it up.

Frick no. If that shite isn’t double bagged with no holes it will still stink.

If there is nothing in the trash bin and the owner piles five bags of regular trash on top of it before trash day, the poop bag can get squished and stuck to the bottom.

Throw your dogs poop away in your own trash bin.

Now throwing it in a construction dumpster is a different story.

Not even a question.

Your dog, Your dog shite.

Leave other people's property alone.

Yes if you leave dog shite in someone else's yard you and your dog should be shot.

I keep a roll of poop bags on the leash. I also bring a grocery store bag with me. Full poop bags go into grocery bag, and it isn't that bad carrying around dog shite.

The only times I've put my dog's shite in someone else's garbage can were when I forgot to bring a grocery bag with me.

Will put it in someone elses can if its on the street. Never walk on someones property to throw it in their garbage can

If it’s on the street, before trash comes I am going to toss it in there.

Otherwise wait until I see dumpster or get home.

The worst are the people who drop the poop bag and think they will get it when they loop back but never do.

In a similar scenario, I actually will take a shite in the can myself.

Yes, I do it while walking my dogs as long as it's by the road. If you have a problem with it, you're probably a miserable person.

I feel if it’s bagged , you can throw it in a garbage can nearest you lined up on the street. Not going to walk onto someone’s property and throw it away.

I had some Karen yell at me a couple weeks ago that I needed to pick up after my dog (while I was walking towards a bag station to grab a bag to pick it up and dispose of) I asked if she could see me walking to the bag station but wish I had had more of a smartass remark at the ready. People like that need to stfu and mind their own business.
