People who own pits should be required to register the damn things like a firearm.
We live in America. We don't have to register firearms.

Took 4 pages before the pit swims out to bite a kid meme. I chuckle everytime I see it.

This time in Hartselle, AL.
MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) says a child has died after they were bitten by a dog near Oak Ridge on Monday.
Sheriff’s deputies and EMS responded to a medical emergency on Ramblewood Private Drive off Vaughn Bridge Road, about five miles west of Hartselle, around 6 p.m.
AirEvac was called to the scene when the sheriff’s office said a child was in critical condition after being bitten by a pit bull. The dog had to be put down at the scene.
Around 8:30 p.m. Monday, MCSO confirmed to News 19 that the child had died as a result of their injuries.
seems like a reasonable dispute amongst child and dog.

I just read that it was an English bulldog that killed the 4 year old.

It was the kid’s fault. And the dad’s fault. When dogs bite humans, it’s usually the humans’s fault. That kid should have gotten a swift lesson on respecting an animal.

Couple months ago I was walking for exercise through a hood in Lafayette that I have never walked in before. Middle class neighborhood near the Saints streets and University Ave. As I’m walking on the street by a home, a fricking pitbull behind a chain link fence comes rushing out towards the fence in an absolute rage, barking and growling. I had a pistol in my pocket and casually pulled it out and held it near my side while this wild animal literally had its head under the fence trying to get out. His collar was hung up on the bottom of the fence, otherwise he may have succeeded in getting under the fence. I was kinda hoping he would so I could test my accuracy with my pistol under duress. I think 11 hollow point .380’s would have done the job.

If I move to any neighborhood where there are pitbulls, you can bet your arse I’ll be carrying when taking walks.

I don't have any problems with people owning pits.
People shouldn’t be allowed to own pitbulls, period.

The child’s father was reportedly bitten by the dog….
I hope that he lost his male organs in the conflict. He was likely the one that acquired the beast.

When is society going to get a clue about this breed & the people who own them.
It’s the only breed to consistently kill people.

Wrong…. It was their neighbor’s pit bull that bit the father and killed his 4 year old son.

Because there are a lot of morons in society who will never have a clue no matter how obvious something is.
And these imbeciles who say it depends on who raises the dogs are the same ones who swear that their dog would never bite anyone. Any person with a brain realizes that you can't predict what a dog will or will not do. Some of our friendliest pets bit people. But they weren't pit bulls who could kill someone if they were to get spooked and attack.

They are bred to kill.
My friend's wife agreed to keep a pit bull while his owners were on vacation. That dog grabbed one of his cows by the throat and he had beat him off with a 2X4. Dog was trying to kill his cow!
In my yard, they will be shot dead, in self defense of course.

What's not to understand. They were created to essentially kill bulls for sports betting entertainment purposes in the 1800's.
Since they no longer fill that purpose they should be eradicated.
quote:
The history of the Pit Bull can be traced back to the early 1800’s in the United Kingdom. Pit Bulls were originally bred from Old English Bulldogs (these dogs are similar in appearance to today’s American Bulldog) who gained their popularity on the British Isles in a cruel blood sport known as “bull baiting”. One to two Bulldogs were set to harass a bull for hours until the animal collapsed from fatigue, injuries or both. These matches were held for the entertainment of the struggling classes; a source of relief from the tedium of hardship.

Is this sarcasm? People are starting to? My dude, this is just basic grammar rules that have been around since we started speaking modern English. Are you going to start using 'it' instead?
I was taught to use “he or she”, but sometimes I am just too lazy to type out the extra letters.
