Are your political views based on your religious views or are you able to seperate the two?

I am just using this one since it seems to be the one topic in which religious views play a huge factor in, but abortion.

Do you think it's possible for someone to be pro-life, but politically.. They think it is better for society (for example, 20 years after abortion became legal, the crime rate started to drop).

I first read about that in Freakonomic so here is the link, but you can google and there is more info on this.

I understand that, but you can apply different views in different situations or have a general view, but under certain circumstances have a different view than your general view.

Most people in the south think Republican = Christian. And IMO, the two are very far apart. I think for the most part, my political voting is a reflection of my religious views

This is sort of what I am trying to get at.

There are a lot of people who base their vote around secondary issues. A lot of the Christians who vote Republican, will vote Republican no matter what simply because the Republican party is the "pro-life" party. And I think that is insane, considering there are a lot more important issues that should be considered.

My religious views are that people are stupid. My political views are that people are stupid. I'd say there is some correlation

No, but if you believe that a fetus is a person than it’s murder, I don’t see where religion plays into that thought process. I find it strange that everyone looks at that as some religious belief.

Great thread

My brothers keeper
Love thy neighbor like you love yourself

Most posters are fake christians. They don't even love Jesus.

If all supposedly Christian TD posters suddenly took Christianity seriously the nation would change over night.

What happened to you serving your ban after the Bama game? Didn’t you say you were going to do that?
