Do you seek out shoes that make a crisp footstep sound when walking?

For example walking on a tile floor and hearing very precise footsteps. Typically with fine dress shoes.

To me it adds to the clothing and experience of walking.

The opposite end of the spectrum would be crocs and sweatpants.

On a related note: How do y'all care for your shoe cream brushes? Let the cream dry and shake it out?

Can't say that I've ever considered that when buying a pair of shoes.

Get the most silent shoes possible and find out what the people around really think about you.

In other words, leather crafted soles compared to synthetic/rubber soles.

My newest J&M wing tips (leather sole) have a pretty crisp click to the walk down the sidewalk

It's part of the swag. You gotta rock it

Part of the reason I have never pulled the trigger on getting AE shoes with the Dainite soles, even though it would be a whole lot more practical.

It is little stuff like this that improves your game in general, IMO.

Just a slight bit of elegance that is lost on many in modern society.

My mom used to buy us "heel taps" when we were kids for our shoes. At birthday parties, everyone knew when you walked in.

Luca Brasi

The sound his shoes make when Luca Brasi walks down the hall before he gets wacked.

It might seem like it, but think about how much information is conveyed by the sound of footsteps: How fast or slow a person is walking, do they have an impairment, etc. This is information your brain is processing sometimes without your realization of it.

You can use that to your advantage in life to stand out, in a good way.
