Do you have a problem with police running red lights when NOT in pursuit?

Occasionally, you'll see them patrolling. They would stop at a red light, check to see if the coast is clear, then pull off.
Do you have an issue with this or is it no big deal?

They do this and flash their lights/sound their siren as if they're going after someone, then shut them off as soon as they cross the intersection.
They need to be held more accountable.

I do...if the lights/siren are not on, set an example and follow ALL street laws.

I have a problem with police officers who think the law doesn't apply to them, which unfortunately, is too many of them.
So yes, I have a problem with them doing that.
I'll add that there's a difference between them doing it in the country or at 2 am on a road that's not busy. However, I've seen some of them do it just to get out of traffic. Those are the ones that piss me off.

I routinely see emergency vehicles put their lights and sirens on to get through rush hour stop-and-go traffic on my daily commute. As soon as they're through the traffic jam, the lights and sirens turn off.

I think to myself "look at this a-hole" but that is about it

Generally, they are answering a call when they do this.
If you are waiting for the cops to arrive, I'm sure you don't mind them running lights.
Experienced cops will tell you that it is sometimes faster to keep the lights off when answering a hot call.
If they are doing it to get to the donut shop before it closes, that is entirely different.

They don't get paid much and they're not the most loved people in society, what's the harm in this little perk?

I'm sure some people who are constantly looking for a reason to be angry and generally pissed off have a big issue with this but it doesn't bother me in the least.
Who knows they may actually be responding to a call. For those triggered or to ignorant to know, there are times when they respond to calls without announcing to the whole city that they are in route.

I haven't noticed it enough to care one way or the other. I assume they run an occasional red light and get away with it just like any other driver does.

I don’t mind. Being a police officer is a shitty job with shitty pay. And most people hate you. Let them run a red light once in a while. Who cares
