Do you feel better with sleep aids or waking up a couple times at night?

We know that sleep medications reduce REM sleep, but is waking up a few times per night actually better than sleeping comfortably with a sleep aid?
Not talking about daily medication use, just occasionally when you still feel awake some nights.

Waking up a few times a night is normal

Sleep aids for me tend to linger through the next day
Prefer drugs, alcohol, or sleeping naturally

I thought when you wake up in the middle of the night it meant a ghost was watching you sleep

Sleep aids (melatonin, Tylenol PM; etc) always leave me groggy the next day. I've come to the conclusion that I'd rather wake up a few times during the night...

I wish... already take ZMA and melatonin. And exercise.
But some nights I just don't get a good night of sleep.

I take melatonin and still wake up about five times a night.

Give me a few Benadryl and I’m good to go.

Stop eating carbs at night, and you’ll sleep through the night

Occasionally I take half of an ambien. I feel great the next day.

I’ve taken trazadone and it helps however a side effect is waking up hungry. It was weird. And the craziest dreams I have ever had in my life.
Lunesta makes me feel energized the next morning.

If by this you mean getting almost blackout drunk and getting a blowjob then yes.

After a few nights of little or unrestful sleep, a sleeping pill helps a lot. I get rebound insomnia from hell if I use them more than a few days in a row so I have to be in bad shape to even think about taking one.

I have, didn't do a thing. On the other hand, ashwaganda made me horny and sleepy at the same time.
