It's a different experience.

Don't get me wrong... it's way overpriced and I would not do it.

But to say it's no different than a 2 day park hopper and a room at All Star Music is not being honest.

If you think I'm being dishonest, you're not getting my point. Yeah, I know it's "different" but my point is there's nothing about being "different" that justifies being 10x the cost of their other hotels and experiences. At least in the way a cruise is "different" that justifies the small room and high price is the logistics of doing all of that at sea. There's no such justifiable cost difference with this fake starcruise experience. They thought they could throw up some TV screen windows and people would open their wallets as if it were a real cruise but stationary, and people aren't buying it.

It's a park experience pretending to be a fake cruise and Disney thinks they can charge cruise prices when they should be charging park prices.

Saw somewhere that a 6ft tall person fits.

How are OTers supposed to fit in that if it’s made for midgets?

No. I just think adults playing Star Wars or anime dress up are losers.

Please search for the “Harley Quinn cosplay” hashtag on Instagram and get back with us. After you take a cold shower of course.

That reminds me of the discount windowless room me and my buddies shared on a spring break carnival cruise

Should have been a heavily themed hotel with DVC section, and not this iteration. I wouldn’t pay this price and I don’t want to go role play. It takes a combination of a person with cash to burn and also likes murder mystery theater.

Yep.

They could have done so much with this, but they went vanilla.

It’s boring.

The Star Wars universe has so much to offer.

Each floor could have been a different Star Wars planet.

GoRuckTiger:

I went last year with my son while running from a hurricane, decided to go to Star Wars land in MGM. No one there and still barely got on the damn ride 15 minutes before closing on stand bye.

Great rides etc btw.

But my exact comment was “Only Disney could frick this up”
Not going back anytime soon.

It’s overpriced. Not enough fans can afford it. Should have opened it cheaper, let it get hyped up, then build the price - it would have sold out perpetually for years then

You nailed it marketing-wise. I wouldn't even consider it unless it came down to under $200/night.

This is the boarding area...

Looks like fun. Guests dressing up in costume and mingling...

Shocking.

Check out my username. If a family wants an experience like this, the US Space and Rocket Center offers family Space Camp. We did it in 2019, and it cost $1200 for the weekend. That includes food, lodging, space missions, history classes, etc. It was awesome, and I highly recommend it.

With that said, to fill 100 rooms consistently all year, you're talking about thousands of people willing to shell out the money for an experience that just doesn't sound all that great.

Yeah, the fact that you pretty much have to participate in a glorified dinner theater experience to make it worth going is a pretty surprising misstep IMO. For what they are charging for just two people it's a one time thing for 99% of the people who might want to do that at best. Add in the cost for kids, the tiny rooms for the price point, and lack of amenities and it looks like an incoming financial disaster that should have easily been shut down early in the brainstorming phase.

Hopefully this is what gets Chapek the boot since he's supposed to be best versed in the amusement parks/hotels portion of Disney's portfolio. Even in great economic times this concept is a hard sell. It's completely fricked in our current climate.

I would maybe stay there for $99 a night. Those rooms are a fricking joke.

Doesn’t include drinks. It only lasts two days. You have to be massive Star Wars fans to enjoy it for the $4,000 it costs.

Funny to see the back side of these parks and rides. Like the alley of a low rent strip mall. Had to take the exit at the top of the Avatar ride and it was like an industrial hallway you see in the movies.

If they just have to theme out various IP's into hotels, make one where I can walk around like Tony Stark in the first Iron Man.
