In 2002 we purchased 10-day park hopper passes, no expiration. $250 each, taxes included. Took about six years to use all the dates.

Which is what they want. They don’t want the riff raff. It’s going to cost them some of their middle class travelers but they are willing to do that to 1. Get rid of Fatigue-Inducers and 2. Push more of the folks who can’t quite afford the parks to their cruises which have a better profit margin than the parks do anyways.

5star resorts run about $500 a night.. times 14 nights… that’s $7k right there.
You’ll rarely see that low of a price unless it’s offseason and only for a standard room. Any room for a family of 4 in a 5 star hotel in Jackson Hole will never be under $1-2k a night unless you are going with a group rate or have a negotiated corporate rate and even then it would have to be the offseason.
Dude is completely full of shite.

It was comparatively empty when I went a couple weeks ago but there’s also massive construction going on currently

I agree it’s high but it does weed out the carnival crowd

I wouldn't spend the day at Disney if you paid me $224 to be there.

They’d never do this but they should charge more for ppl who don’t bring kids.
Let other have their childhood. Jfc

That stuff will pop up on my facebook feed from time to time. I’m often left disturbed, yet other times intrigued.

In contrast, what’s a comparable Universal ticket?
About the same. More for the new Universal Park. They aren't the white knight here either

Four pages in and no one has pointed out that this is around 8.5% or an avg of $12 a year. This is a big nothing burger!
No I'm not a fan of Disney and yes it's extremely expensive. I'm just poking fun of how the headlines grab your attention and creates emotional division without any application of critical thinking.

Well the only kinda good thing about that is it will keep the Carnival cruisers at bay:

Just bought 3 day park hopper for 3 people for xmas time. $1963. $1100 for 2 days for 3 people at universal. Each tix was $204 per day per person. So went up $20 per day per person.

Disney is not worth a $10,000 vacation
We go every year for UCA College Nationals (Cheer and Dance). It runs us roughly $550 or so for 3 days of park hoppers per person. If we do the total package and stay on site with UCA, it's $750-800 per person for hotel and park tickets. That's Friday-Sunday with us arriving Thursday, leaving Monday. It's typically another $230 or so for an extra night if we stay on site. I've gone for as little as $300 for 4 nights in a Hilton right outside ESPN total and the $550 per person for everything else. Use my daughter's wristband to get free parking. It's really not that expensive.
Now...you can make it as expensive as you want with top tier hotels and meals.

Yah it’s ridiculous our trip next spring will probably be our last. Only reason we are going is to see our son march in the parade with his high school. For three park days with park hopper, and four nights at a mid tier resort we are looking at just under $4k for three people this doesn’t include travel or food. Like another poster said we took our family of 5 to Yellowstone for a week during covid for $6k

Because normal families aren't plastering their social media with their Disney trip, Disney adult freaks are.
