Did you have a bully when you were younger?

If so, did you ever confront them later in life?

When I grew up in the 90’s, I had a couple that picked on me, and I did my fair share of what would now be considered bullying. I think it was 100% verbal. Being stuffed in a locker was a myth. Mostly, if you didn’t like someone, you ignored them.

I was a dick to some people, and I was on the receiving end. In today’s world, it was surely bullying. I don’t think I’ve ever had the fortune to encounter someone that I picked on (so I could buy a drink and apologize to for being an arse), and I haven’t encountered someone that pissed me off years ago. I think it might make for some funny dialogue if it does happen.

Had a few. Still don’t care for them to this day. They were the root cause of a lot of insecurities that I still battle today.

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that it’s just kids being kids. It has a lasting effect.

I got suspended for this in the 9th grade or so. We didn't physically harm the kid or anything. He just said he was going to tell on us for dipping in P.E. IIRC so we stuck him in a football lockerroom locker.

Problem is that none of us knew the combination and we were trying to figure out how to get him out and the bell rang so we all panicked and ran off. I wasn't a bully or anything. We were more messing around with the kid threatening to rat us out

I never noticed much bullying in general. The worst was my cousin in a different grade used to get bullied by a couple of kids in his neighborhood. Me and another cousin used to frick with them bad as a defense of our guy. Eventually the bullied cousin became a badass wrestler and judo practitioner and beat the shite out of one of the punks and that was the end of it.

Why would I? It was immature shite kids did to each other. As I matured I realized that and there was nothing to be confrontational about.

Not being a bully, but I had a friend that has PKU, which is a disorder where their body can’t process protein. It’s the reason your newborn gets a heel pricked- so they can check for PKU. We used to harass our friend about not eating meat, getting bean burritos at Taco Bell, etc. Thankfully, we are still in touch and I apologized for giving him so much shite about not being able to eat meat. We just didn’t understand at the time, and he of course wasn’t interested in explaining it, but I recently sent him a message and said now that I know, I’m sorry I made fun of it. We were never intentionally mean about it, but in hindsight, we should have never mentioned it- we just didn’t know any better

I had to go to Catholic school for 6-8th grade. It was a very small school. I am talking one class for each grade and 7th and 8th grade was combined.

Being new and not from where most of the kids were from I got it pretty bad. But my mouth didn't help my situation. I don't back down no matter what and I could have avoided situations. At public school that's how you gained respect. At a small Catholic school where the kid who gives you the hardest time, mother was a teacher there. When he went tell him mom whenever someone told him something.. Well, that got me suspended a few times.

When I went back to public school for HS it was a dog eat dog world. I had no problem. As long as you had a group of friends, stayed cool with people from other groups and people knew you push back if they fricked with you, you were good.

Yup. In high school. Would walk up and shut my locker while I was working on it. Just a jerk.

I started fifth grade in Quincy, MA after moving there from Atlanta due to my dad’s work.

A little group of kids gave me shite because I spoke phonetically, and we all lived in the same neighborhood incidentally, so the walk home was always a little hostile.

I befriended the biggest kid in class, paid him with ramen after walking me home every day.

I’m of Irish heritage, and think had I not left Boston, I’d have been Irish mob for sure. Hired my first muscle at 11 years old

I got picked on, but looking back I probably asked for some of it. I egged it on by being an egghead and probably acted better than I was.

Jerome Landry, dumb as a rock and big as a brick shithouse. When I was about 12 we got in a yelling match and my dad came out and called me over. He said I'll stop it or you can fight him. Of course I said I'll fight him. I never landed a punch and he landed about 30. I never gave in though. Next day he had a cast on his wrist from hitting my hard arse head. Taught him.
