Friend,
Between Walmart and Sam's this morning, I spent about $550. $150 of that was on Mardi Gras supplies for my parade sales cart next year.
Sincerely,
TulaneLSU

People are preparing for the government to request us to stay home for 2 weeks to a month.
Considering what has happened in other countries it isn't unfeasible that it could happen here.
It's better for some people to do it now, versus the situation that would occur if everyone waited for the announcement.
What is unreasonable is people buying 2 years worth of hand sanitizer, toilet paper, etc.

Yep. Made the rounds this morning. Didn’t need toilet paper but felt I hit the jackpot when I found a fresh delivery of name brand t.p. Had to contribute to the madness and buy some anyway. The pallet lasted 10 minutes before being bought out. A worker told me people were waiting out back for the delivery truck. The driver was scared and called security.

I've been worrying all day that my convenience store won't have any beer when I arrive from work for my weekend stock up.

And in those countries stores like grocery stores and pharmacies aren't closed.
So yes, this panic buying is nothing but herd stupidity.

Wine was the main reason for my sams run. The beer was noticeably low.

I have enough meat, fish, ducks, quail and doves to last my family 3 months. Oil and flour for a gravy. Country boys can survive.

I make my monthly Costco trip around the 15th of the month. I'll probably go tonight on way home from work.

Well no, they arent going to close. But if you need to stay home then it's best to stay home.
What's wrong with being prepared to do that?

Yes, but this is nothing unusual—I have 5 kids

I saw a guy at Winn Dixie with six gallons of milk. If he doesn't have a dozen (or more) kids at home, WTF does a guy do with six gallons of milk?
I went to buy 0.88/lb chicken thighs (sold out) and a few other things, and I figured 1 or 2pm on Friday would be better than the weekend crowd. Wrong! It was crazy.

I have 5 kids at home and I spend ~$500/paycheck. Kroger cashiers think that my wife and I are preppers. Nope, we always fill 2 buggies when we shop.

The same people that do this are the same ones bitching about the boss making them come into work.
Don't make me come into the office! I need to go to Sam's and expose myself to thousands of people and touch things that thousands of people have touched daily!!

I went 3 days ago and bought a bunch of cases of beer then went the next day and bought more.
I’m pretty good for weathering this.
Got the pool heated and beer cold.
This ain’t gonna suck at my house
