Did you any of you suddenly have a dramatic increase in Hangxiety in your 40s?

Up until last fall, I would just have the regular slight tired feeling, maybe a small headache or acid reflux. No big deal. Drink some water and its gone pretty soon.

NOW, I am getting dramatic anxiety the next day. Its this normal to come on this quick? Making it very non worth drinking now.

That’s the guilt from realizing you’re still a loser who drinks too much and gets hangovers. It happened to me, and I quit boozing with an aim to never get drunk again.

Being perpetually drunk helps me avoid any hangovers

IIRC, there is a biological explanation. I think it's similar to the hangover tremors.

That’s was happening to me and my answer for it was to just drink more …. and drink more

That became a very real problem for me, so I’ve been sober since July 20, 2016

Sorry you have to drink alcohol to enjoy life. You’re going to a little baby your entire life? Man up boy. Find Christ.

You're asking if people get more hungover as they get older?

Also, you're in your 40's and this is your username?

you ar e using all your dopamine when you drink and it puts you in a sad depressive state the next day. My guess is that as yu age maybe you aren't producing as much dopamine as you used to so the well runs dry. You may also just have more real life anxiety that you can repress on a day to day but in your weakened hung over state it comes to the forefront.

As others have said, if its a problem then stop drinking. I no longer drink much because I get terrible hangovers. I'll partake on occasion but drinking and getting hungover was no longer fun so I just stopped.

Not quite sure wtf you are referring to but yes my hangovers get worse as I get older. I rarely have more than 3 beers a night now. Even then I only drink on weekends.

The lethargy and fatigue the next morning is not worth it to me.

He's about to follow up with another post asking about how he can get intoxicated not using booze in a way that won't pop on a drug test. I think it started a week after he joined. I've never seen someone feen so much to be altered. The anxiety is probably from all the shite he used to smoke/inject and doesn't do any more.

Having the occasional cocktail in the evening after dinner is fine. But if you’re doing it daily, especially to the point you have a hangover the next day, you have a problem.

You are dehydrated.

Drink water while boozing, before going to sleep, and right when you wake up.

Or don't. I don't give a frick.

Cut back on the drinking or cut it out totally. You’ll feel better.

Happens to me in my early 30s. I just try to avoid drinking as much as possible. Even though I only drink maybe once a month.

Having to care for young kids the morning after drinking is misery. Just aren’t able to get enough hours of sleep.

Yes. It's what has caused me to severely cut back on drinking. I can still tie one on every once in a while for special occasions, but daily drinking has ceased. Maybe one or two on a Friday night.

Yeah it's one of the main reasons I quit almost completely. If I get piss drunk on a Friday or Saturday I'm a nervous wreck for a couple of days. I can get a good buzz and not have any issues. Only do that on Fridays or Saturdays now, around 3 drinks.

The day I turned 30 my hangovers became unbearable.

I still drink but rarely get drunk.

22 year old me could not process this thought.

I don’t miss it.
