they put a "temporary" freeze on matching contributions to 401(K).

I'm predicting this will go the way pensions did
They'll quietly just quit being offered by companies and before long no one will have one, except maybe government employees

Insurance always goes up; never down.

There doesn't have to be any justification for it.

BCBS sucks in Virginia. We are changing our healthcare insurance as soon as possible.

I'm getting bills for labs that were covered 100% earlier in the year. This past week my pharmacy called me and said they got a note that the copay on my Jardiance is $868.00 for 3 months. Three months ago I paid #208 for the same prescription but unless I switch ti CVS or an online pharmacy my copay will be higher.

Can you give me the name?

I’ve requested a quote on a BCBS short term plan but I’m not sure that’s going to save me anything

I hate my job with a passion and they frick is over in a lot of ways, I haven’t rec’d a raise since I started in 2018 despite lots of additional responsibilities and achieving of goals. That said, our insurance has remained good. Most of our employees that leave for positions making $3k-$5k more end up saying they pay that back in health insurance.

We’re self insured through Aenta. I’m not a good comparison with the rest of you because I only pay for myself but I pay about $150 month/ $25 dr visits, very cheap prescription as long as they’re generic (name brand are barely covered at all, I don’t know how normal that is), and I’m not sure about ER visits but I hear it’s acceptable.

If you quit or get fired, COBRA starts on the last day worked which is when insurance ends. Laid off today, coverage ends at midnight. That kind of sucks.

I can only bitch so much about Obamacare for a few reasons, but unfortunately I made some horrible decisions in 2015 and had a year long jail sentence. When I got out, I was eligible for Medicaid immediately and signed up. It was the best insurance I’ve ever had in my life but my choice in doctors sucked. I had to travel far and wait long for anything. I broke my leg during that time and 2 surgeries later and 25 doctor visits, I was only out of pocket about $150. Something is broke about that.

For the record, I worked my arse off waiting tables 50 hours a week, walking to work until I could get a car, then got a real job that had real insurance and got off Medicaid in about a year. I felt like a complete loser but did use it. I was eligible for food stamps and used them for 2 months and cancelled when I got the waiting tables job because I reported my income correctly. I felt like a complete piece of shite every time I used that EBT card and would go late at night so no one would see me.

Oh, and I quit drinking since then too so no more jail sentences likely. Want to add that as well. 4.5 years sober now.

I pay for Medicare and plan "F" BCBS. Cost me about $800 a month. Pays 100% of everything.

Now the wife, that cost over $900 and a shite load deductible.

No help from the government. We are both retired.

At work we switched to one with a higher deductible and copay to keep the same cost, but the cost is still an extra $40 each month.

Wasn't even thinking about this, not looking forward to my quote now. I have the cheapest plan available, already at $1160 a month for a family of 4. Going to be more than my mortgage soon at the rate we're going.

As a business owner, I know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. And I'm blessed to have employees that appreciate where they work as much as we appreciate them.

Yeah, I pay like $1400 for family. That’s a “low deductible” plan. Just got about $900 in bills for a monogram and 2 kids dental checks with no work done.
