My gripe with my employer isn't with insurance as much as it is they put a "temporary" freeze on matching contributions to 401(K). That's the one that has me pissed off.

They could just lay you off, you ungrateful shite.
There's not a single business that hasn't been affected this year. Employees that bitch and moan about temporarily losing ~5%, when owners are taking a beating, aren't smart enough or good enough people to keep around long term.

Not a good idea. There are noncompliant ACA plans out there that are better then the share plans.

Yeesh. I’d go find a new job. Obviously they don’t know how to negotiate a health plan or they hate their employees.

I’ve negotiated health plans twice for organizations. I can tell you we’ve never considered something this awful.
i work for a publicly traded company that offers Cadillac health coverage and pays a pretty large percentage. The $650 a month I pay is a pretty good deal imo

You are being intentionally obtuse to say this. We ALL got hit with ridiculous premiums since Obamacare.

Tell me what you think a Cadillac plan is exactly. It also depends on what percentage of shared premium. I work for a Fortune 100 company, the point stands. If your share is $650 a month and they are paying $500 or $800 a month, that isn’t a Cadillac plan. That’s called high premium insurance and low cost share by your employer.

Again, what do you think a Cadillac plan is?

Let’s also not pretend like you’re a titan of industry. Your company isn’t paying $10,000-$20,000 in medical premiums for you.

frick blue cross blue shield

They have a monopoly in Missouri, especially with state and city employees.

We have Anthem, and it covers 50% less than last company. Great job morons in the State, probably costs a lot more and pays much less. Brilliant!

A lot more people got on Medicaid this year because of the shutdowns. Probably paying for those on free healthy blue.

My company sponsored plan through BCBS got so out of control I had to drop my wife and daughters off my plan and had to get them a stand alone (short term medical) plan. It can be renewed annually for a total of three years then I’ll need to re-examine my options. My company pays 90% of mine so I pay a total of about $65 per month. The stand alone policy costs $693 per month so my savings amounts to about $700 per month.
The coverage is not quite as good and the deductible is $6000 but it’s still a $40 copay for PCP and for specialists and $10 for generic RX’s.
Healthcare costs are straight up batshit crazy nowadays and if this is largely caused by corporate greed, shame on those assholes responsible.

Man frick you. Not ungrateful at all. That's a basic benefit. I bet even McDonald's offers 401(K) matching.

None of that applies at all to what I do or what my company produces, dumbass. We have been going strong the entire time. Before you decide to act like a complete prick to somebody, maybe you should know what you're talking about first.

The company is paying at least 650 for his plan.
