Seriously, that is ridiculous for a mammogram, it should be covered under wellness & even if extra not that much
I don’t have dental insurance & its around 160.00 for cleaning with x rays

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of MS has still been good to me. So far. I’ve done the marketplace before. What a shitshow.

The best part about high deductible plan is you find out how much the insurance is overcharged vs cash price.
I’ve had providers when they find out it’s high deductible and they’ll have to just bill me, offer me a cash discount price beyond what the services would cost if ran and routed through insurance.
It’s easier for some of the small providers to just ask for 20-25% for an office visit. Sure, it’s not counting towards my deductible but I don’t go that often and a visit that would normally be $125 to me through insurance, I find I’m routinely paying $25-$30 cash at time of service. Its not an exaggeration.

Supposedly that’s one of the benefits with a health share, you get cash discount then submit to health share for reimbursement

Thanks man. It was a humbling experience and I'm a better man for it. I know in my heart that once I stopped damaging myself, I did everything in a way to not abuse the system and get back on my own two feet. I understand that most people don't have a problem with that and I paid taxes for 22 years before that and 3 years since, since I only have so much shame about the experience. I also saw firsthand the rampant abuse and heard the stories about the way people used all that to their advantage and talked about being on EBT for 2 years and always on Medicaid and all that stuff. I felt dirty, no way I could do that any longer than I absolutely had too.
THanks for the encouragement!

Yeah just got the bills over weekend. Need to now spend another couple hours on the phone.
It’s about $500 for mammogram and $400 for dental. Of course the dental I spent another hour on phone before asking what’s covered.
In feb they charged me $300 for a penicillin shot. Eventually had them run without insurance and was $30. It’s a joke man, honestly wish I was on Medicaid.
I’m in sales so I’m about 1/3 off what I would probably be making without the global economic collapse, so not great.
BC also put my account in “grace period” as of 9/3 so couldn’t get a med bc my payment from 9/1 had not cleared yet. Just absurd how this works without employer coverage

That is horrible
I guess you are supposed to pay a week before the due date

Yes, mine rose as well... I made a virtual doctor visit in May that's it.

I have a high deductible plan. My employer pays the premiums.

Mine is going up but not sure how much yet. Deductibles going up too.

We haven’t had to use the insurance going on 6 years now. Probably paid over 60k in premiums over 5 years and never used it

Yeah, paid every month on the first and last month they said you know this drug costs $400, right? For wife, and she's like, it shouldn't.
After 20 mins on phone they tell me payment hasn't cleared so some kind of hold has been placed. It got worked out 2 days later, but WTF? If I were in a car accident on 9/3 i would have been SOL until the check cleared? Madness
