Somebody start taking screen caps of the Facebook LSU mom’s page

The comments are good. One mom wanted to know if they should drive to LSU to pick up their kid. Right now they are fighting over LSU telling students to run, hide, or fight and then saying it's a false alarm. Many moms are posting on their individual pages about how much they endured today worried about their student. Get them some wine and chocolates!

Then they are retarded.

Do you know how many people carry on LSU campus?

Or at least, did as recent as 7 years ago.

It seems like lsu alert system failed big time.

Most of the messages posted to lsu mobile (the official alert system for students) didn't actually come through as an alert to my phone until 30-45 minutes after it was posted.

So sure if you pulled up lsu mobile you could see the message, but that's a pretty scary lag in their alert system.

LSU PD needs to update their Facebook or issue a full presser on this.

If the LEO was easily identifiable, they should post a pic of the officer’s clothing to show how this was a clear case of a hoax report to create public fear. Book the idiot that made the claim would be nice too, but I understand if the LSU Admin doesn’t let them go that far.

One week you're at LSU Orientation making new friends, seeing all kinds of hot arse... .
The next week you're at L.E. Fletcher...

There were 373 deaths and ~1300 wounded from mass shootings in 2018. That is ~1 in every 1 million people in the USA died in 2018 from a mass shooting. 37,000 people die in car crashes in the USA every year. That is 100x more likely. Do you freak out at every moment when you are driving?

Those are numbers you would expect, because it is a more common activity. Statistics play no role in this argument. Say, for example, I eat raw chicken every day and I don't drive a car. Am I still more likely to die from a car accident than salmonella? No. Get out of here with your car wreck statistics.

More common than what? Being in public?

That is the point.

Constantly freaking out and worrying about something that is uncommon is stupid.

The same thing goes for the LSU Mom’s Facebook page because the admins took off in the caravan and no one is updating that the threat level is now over. White suburbans and Tahoe’s are clogging up I-20, I-49, and I-20 because of this.

Carol if you are reading this you can come home now.

Reports are circulating that an LSUPD officer dressed in plain clothes was openly carrying a holstered weapon. Obviously there’s nothing wrong with that but someone, rumored to be a janitor called it in

ETA: just jumping back in this thread. Didn’t see it was reported already

LSU sent the alert just a few minutes after the report. Something happened to your phone baw. What carrier do you have? I use Verizon

Lsu also has an emergency alert system tied to every LSU owned computer on their network. Literally a scary as frick full screen message pops up stating the same message as the text alerts
