From Montegut as well. Lili took made landfall in Intracoastal City in '02 and f'd shite up in Montegut with the surge.

A Morgan City landfall won't be much better. Thankfully the levees have been built up since then.

damn, how we end up with so many Montegut peeps in here?

Levees are definitely better than Lili days.
but still not something i’d bet a ton of money on.

Not sure why you getting downvoted as this will be very similar scenario for terrebonne and lafourche. Cat 3 making landfall in Morgan city then tracking north East is a horrible scenario for that area. Was 12 years old when andrew hit and was living in Bourg LA. By far the worst storm I have experienced in my 40 years on this earth.

I was living in Montegut. We stayed in Houma for Andrew.

Gustav was worse IMO

Yes. NHC forecast:

Intensity guidance is even more bullish.

OK slack so mark your bingo card but based on "now", Vermilion Parish would be worse than with Laura, correct?

Western vermillion way better for Delta than Laura. East Vermillion I'd say same unless you live south of the intracoastal

A weakening cat 2 is way different than a strengthening cat 4 but I'd bet Delta will have a Cat 3-4 surge

My mom probably taught you in 4th grade at MMS.

I heard when they drove the sheet pilings in the levee, if they hit root or rock, they just cut the top of the sheet piling to be level with the other sheets

Gustav was a direct hit and didn’t push the water this one might. Yeah gustav left me out of power for 14 days and with a leaking roof. No picnic either.

Can someone give me a rundown on when the models run everyday?

Took a stab at converting Z times to CDT times for the updates most people look for. Note for models and TT spaghetti plots the times are when the data starts being uploaded online. Smarter people, feels free to catch my errors.

Andrew caused a lot of tree damage but it was only a very low end Cat 3 at landfall. That’s no joke, of course, but it’s not some beast that cannot be topped for the central LA coast like some people act.

It was bad, but it’s entirely possible this storm is just as intense.

People got all pissy when I said Laura had Rita potential too.

I did not. I almost did and glad I did not. Everyone I spoke to That stayed said it was one the scariest nights they ever spent. Unbelievable damage.
