Let’s just hope it breaks down as it enters cooler water and sheer near the coast..

Well, there’s not a ton of trees left around here to cause much damage, so I guess you have a point.

How much weakening should we expect if any if made a direct over the Yucatán peninsula?

These models keep creeping west towards LC. To say I’m stressed is accurate. We’ve had power for what? A couple weeks now? Kids were supposed to start school Thursday after COVID and then Laura and now this again. House is still damaged....thankfully, no repairs have been made on it yet.
Hope y’all understand that I’m wishcasting the hell out of this thing to stay to the east of us.
Same here man... same

Well that is a nightmare for my camp on Belle River

This is the worst part...the waiting game. Close enough in to make your stomach knot but too far out to make any decision on what to do.
Really, really don't like that track that has it coming up over Morgan City and then between BR and Nola with us on the wet side.

good question. also if it makes landfall there, it seems like a direction change could be possible?

The Houma track and the MC track both still have thibodaux in hurricane winds if I read that right. frick.

Yep the waiting game sucks. Waiting for the visible satellite is kind of nerve racking too because you know it’s gotten bigger. Fiancé’s 99 yo great grandma is bed ridden and can’t move her. South of Lafayette. Not a fun time with a hurricane coming.

And might be another "Andrew" that killed the bass fishing in the area for years afterwards and still hasn't gotten back to pre-Andrew.

Man, I know we’re a few days out, but God bless Terrebonne Parish if that route holds true.

What time does the emergency text alert go out

Interesting that the landfall portion of track hasn’t really moved but now this thing is going over the Yucatan. Seems weird that it’s not going to weaken much over land but I guess it’s going fast enough to avoid weakening.
Web are in Mandeville, not ideal as of now, guess we have about 48 more hours of evaluation to see what’s up.

Levi said due to the uncertainty of that interaction, storm has the possibility to make landfall anywhere within NHC's cone.
No shite it always makes landfall between the cone because they’re allowed to move the cone

3.1 degrees WEST and 0.5 degrees NORTH since the 4am update yesterday morning

Ooof. That 10 pm would be a back breaker here on the north shore

I’d think by the time it got up here it would be significantly weakened, the eye wall specifically.

The biggest change with the 4:00 bulletin is the intensity. Delta seems to be strengthening very quickly and likely will be a Cat 4 before it hits the Yucutan and again when it gets into the Gulf. Despite "weaking" while approaching the central Gulf Coast Delta may still be a major hurricane at landfall. Details on GMA all morning and a discussion is on the way.

Unfortunately it doesn't take much wind out of the south or SE to create real flooding probs on the north shore.
