Weather channel going full fear porn and showing how New Orleans could go underwater.
Coming up from the SW the angle of motion at landfall for this storm won't be conducive for a massive surge into New Orleans. Especially since it's much more likely Delta trends west instead of over New Orleans.

Another model shifts west. CMC has it going almost exactly where Laura made landfall.
It's the CMC.... come on.

agreed with considering the timber has been dropped, but the scary issue is the debris not yet extracted as Stout pointed out
No doubt. I added to my op. That’s what is was talking about. A good bit of the catastrophic damage was due to the sheer volume of trees that were taken down taking down power lines, poles, houses, etc. I went and helped and I’ve never seen so many trees down.

The only thing positive about the Lake Charles area is most of your weaknesses in trees and power have already been mitigated by Laura. So aside from that fact that another storm in Lake Charles would suck arse on a level even shitty for 2020, it would likely cause less impact than if it hit elsewhere.
Dude trees had not much to do with the ENTIRE power grid having to be rebuilt from scratch. You have no idea. The poles themselves including transmission towers were all just completely wiped out. There are still piles upon piles of debris lining every street in town. We finally all got power back, but there are still people trying to salvage what they can of their homes. There are roofers replacing shingles as I type this, which will be for nothing. Not to mention the lack of internet which they are FINALLY working on. It would be devastating in every way.

Calm down people, It's not going to Lake Charles. The fearmongering will be high cause people want the drama of you getting hit twice. Just chill.

What are other New Orleanians planning on doing? Does it look like this thing will get bad enough for us to need to evacuate.
Any other resources for me to check out other than this thread?

Not fear mongering, just showing another model that was east and now more west like the GFS. Last thing I want is another storm around here.
Chill.

There could be a typhoon about to plow Okinawa and those fricks would somehow tie it to New Orleans.
