Yea we do quite a bit of azimuthal gamma and sonic but that's about the extent of the LWD. I actually had a call today to submit pricing for a azimuthal RES job in Permian for 2019.

The lawyers effed up the contract lingo and said something along the lines of "Any company that lost money during this time period has a right to claim." Didn't specify relating to the spill.
At least that's what I've always thought. Could totally be wrong though

I knew one of the directional drillers that drilled the well. He left a few days before the disaster. He quit Halliburton a few days after that and came work with us. I believe he died of cancer a few months ago. Good man

Good to hear and happy you're around. Yea I have a little boy. He takes up chunks of my time. I'll look out for you now that I know you're around.

My former classmate's dad was killed that day. Terrible accident that could have been prevented.

Basically, if you worked around SELA, you could get money

Any increase in curve RSS? That was supposed to be the next big thing. Other than RO DDs of course

Some younger engineers want to see the toys work sometimes. Most of the time you can just sell them on faster decoding and then just go out there with a basic tensor based tool and get the job done and everybody is happy

Nothing funnier than an office guy getting pissed off because the image quality sucks when we're drilling 500'/hr

People got money all the way up to Auburn. I believe it was zoned.

I was friends with Wyatt Kemp. Our girlfriends lived together when we were in college. We often found ourselves fishing while they were doing the female drama thing. Wyatt was an old soul. The guy spent his free time reading about Alexander the Great. I've got a lot of good memories with that dude.

I knew Gordo as well. Good guy. Sad for him to go out like that with young kids.

The settlement was already settled. The money BP agreeded to pay they paid.
So now you have all this money that BP agreed to pay. It had to go somewhere. The lawyers pounced. Companies along TX, La, Ms, Al, and Fl were encouraged to file a claim no matter what. Like I said, they money was already there. These companies weren’t sueing, they were just trying to get a piece of the pie. It had to go somewhere
Every company was classed A, B, or C and depending on your class is how your company was evaluated

Exactly. Someone was getting the money.
Any company along the Gulf Coast that didn’t file a claim were idiots. Didn’t matter what industry you were in.

My uncle had a land net in Terrebonne Parish. He collected $3200 month for 3 years due to lost income for the spill.
A crabbers buddy of mine spent his money right and got his hot arse wife some new titties.
A coworker of mine got a check for $27,400 and all he had to claim was lost opportunity to fish.

Yep I believe the financial test was just that your income dropped in a certain time span then recovered in a certain timespan. It kinda coincided with how the overall economy was at the time so all these companies got money that probably weren’t directly effected, atleast in my area.
