I gotcha. Then he was HNIC at the office in Gray. That was the headquarters. Unless he was was stationed in Grand Isle. But I doubt that because of all the media. They probably kept him very protected.

I know a few people who were on the rig at the time of the event and were depicted in the move.

Also a lot of people directly involved in the reponse and involved before the event.

Impacted fishing, and still is.
Condolences to the families of those lost. I hope you reamed
BP. Most people I know own the stock so I was a loner in any
debate.

I flew out around 2230 th eight of the explosion and staged on Thunderhawk, repo’d to Nakika, picked up two employees and flew to NOLA, then back to base, was up all night, then deployed assets for oil spill medical support for months.

I know someone who was in the Coast guard in NOLA at the time. Heavily involved...that is all I'll share.

Y'all looking for any resistivity/nuke baws?

Also are y'all willing to ignore a checkered past?

Not much Res/Nuke work in the US just now. Operators are still trying to low-ball service companies and service companies are willing to under bid each other for work even if it means losing money on a project. We have some Nuke work coming next year and have seen an uptick in calls for pricing lately for azimuthal RES to geosteer so 2019 may see an increase in higher end LWD.

Yeah the high end stuff has been pretty dead in NAL for a few years. Big blue runs a lot of azimuthal GR but that's about it. I could count on two hands the resistivity/DN jobs we had since 2014 before I quit earlier this year. All that work in the Permian really doesn't require anything more than a super basic tensor tool.

I've been moonlighting as a geosteerer from the house. Trying to get Sun God Directional going

My dad works for BP in Houma.

I barely saw him for a year after it happened.

Honestly, it made me realize how much the national news stretches the truth. I would hear first hand accounts from my dad, and then hear something totally different/outlandish from the news and public officials.
Really makes me not take the news seriously anymore.

...oh, and Billy Nungesser is a huge arse-hole

I have several clients that own businesses in New Orleans/ southern LA. Some of the settlements recived from the spill are absolutely staggering. From oil companies, to construction, to a boutique located in the French Quarter (not kidding), people got MF paid. The last I saw total damages paid out by BP was around $60B.

If you worked at any restaurant in the city, you got money. I know people that got paid $10-15k after the spill, and they worked at a Mexican restaurant
