I'll ask for clarification on whatever she heard. I have nonspecifics other than a 22 yr old nursing student's conversation, lol
My thought was " no way it's that simple"
I would also add, she did say she would be working the whole time, as a nurse....not sure how that gives with what you're saaying about work requirements

My brother is an NP at the ER at BRG. No idea what he makes but he works all the time to avoid home life. We inherited that from our dad.

100-120K in BR sounds about right.

This use to be the case, market is now flooded w/ Psych NPs and salary is in turn lower

My wife makes $68/hr at urgent care in Houston, 3 years of experience. 1099 or W2 no benefits.
It's crazy to think about different what people in different professions will trade for money. I would need $680 an hour do do what some of these nurses do.
They hand out money like tic tacs in commercial construction.

Not the only person in the room

FYI, a lot of these replies are stating some extremely high salaries. I wouldn’t bank on that. Unless she hits the jackpot, I’d expect closer to $100k.

A friend of mine here in Houston area is making $140,000 working part-time. She is able to pick her daughter up from school every day.
Not bad.
Not bad.

Market is saturated especially in LA. Once she passes boards it will be a minute before she gets a job. Two friends that graduated and still looking for a job a year after passing boards

And they deserve every bit of it, IMO.

Im late to this conversation and I haven't read all 4 pages, but the amount of female NP's that take low paying positions is what holds the pay scale down. I wouldn't get off the couch for 125k. I make $200k with benefits, working urgent care, but I work fast, i don't cry when the pace is crazy during flu season, I just put it in high gear and move the meat; treat and street! You have to be competent enough to send the sniffles home, and know when someone is sick as shite and send them to the hospital. Women that go straight into NP school, without years of patient care experience under their belt, don't have this competence.
