Dang...talk about a bad day

My neighbor four doors down bought a new Toyota Camry yesterday, and her car was totaled this morning by a distracted driver who didn't have insurance or a valid license. That was without a doubt the worst "Hey, how are ya doing" chat I ever had with someone when I was walking my dog earlier this afternoon and saw her in her yard.

Well that's not a creepy story or anything

This is common place in America today. Very sad. We were almost killed a few months ago by a drunk driver, and he didn't even lose his license.

Well did she have insurance? Since she was hit by someone not insured, was she hit by a Camaro, Sebring, or 1992 Cadilliac Coupe Deville?

Was the person who hit her an undocumented worker?

So, if that story is bad, she wasn't properly insured either, was she?
EDIT: missed the brand new car part. Her lender probably insisted she was.

I hate it when people think you really want to know when you ask "How ya doing?"
It could be the worst day of my life and I'm still saying, "arright, yourself?"

All of you fricksticks need to purchase as much UM/UIM (uninsured/underinsured) motorist coverage as you can afford.
This type of auto insurance protects you when the person who hits you has not enough insurance to cover your damages.

Women driver. Probably her fault.

Actually UM only covers bodily injury. UM PD (property damage) is what you want if you're worried about UM damage to your car.
