Cousin just asked me for money: he’s a high income earner and parents are wealthy

Just got off the phone with a first cousin who works in tech sales. He does well, but also owns several airbnbs and has fallen behind on mortgages. His parents are wealthy but he’s got too much pride to ask them. He needs to “shift some money around”. Should I lend him the $50k?
ETA: he said he’s $50k in the hole but would take whatever he could get.

$50k? Hell no. Unless you’re ok not seeing it again.

I don’t need any more info.
Yes. Absolutely yes. No question.

Not subtle. No you don't ever lend money to family. If you give money to family, you don't expect to get it back.

I’d ask if he voted for Trump or Biden before making a decision.

I don’t know your cousin as well as you do, but in general I’d say don’t be surprised if he doesn’t pay you back.

Just give him the money.
Or tell him no.

Have him put up property as collateral and charge him hard money lending rates.

Ask for nudes of his wife before wiring the money.

Loan him the money if you have it but tell him he has 60 days to pay you back plus $10k

I had a cousin who asked me for money, when I found out he still owed our grandmother 10k, I told that POS to kick rocks…

Sounds like you should tell him to sell the airbnbs

Put it in writing and wreck him on the interest. Speak to him like a high earning man and tell him how he gets out of his troubles.
Unless it's one of those super close brother like cousins. Then just tell him no.

Not subtle at all.

Easy answer is No
Would with iron clad contract with property held and done by lawyer with loan registered and notarized.
But really I only have 4 people I would loan money and are brothers or sisters. Still would get loan notarized or what ever makes it legal.

Don’t lend any money you can’t afford to give away.
