After the world wars, you saw a ton of widows with young kids.

Surely some men were willing to step in and raise them.

Not the kids or the widow's fault.

Sure…it would depend on the details of the situation, obviously. Kids, family, former in-laws, etc. would all come into play.

Young widow with kids, or widow with young kids?

In this case, both

Are we talking 2-3 kids or 8-10 kids?

Different type of women back then. Think back to your grandma. You know any women today that can cook like she did? Know any women that can stick to a budget and not overspend like she did? Was your grandma covered in cheap tattoos and nose rings? Was the medicated up to the moon?

I briefly dated a woman who, at ~37-38, was widowed and divorced with a kid. I was about a decade younger and we both knew it was just a short term fling.

Sure could. If I was single, and she was wonderful, I’d love the chance to step in and help children. That would be a huge bonus.

If the husband died of natural causes or accident, maybe, and that’s after a deep dive on her. Outside of that, a man in his 40’s on his right track in life has no business contemplating anything serious with any woman that’s close to his age, and has kids.

Widowed? Yes.

Divorced with kids? Absolutely not.

This seems like a weird line to draw to me. Divorce doesn't automatically mean that they did anything wrong.

Divorced means she's either crazy or makes horrible decisions. Plus, you would always have the ex-husband to deal with. I don't think a divorced woman and a widowed woman bring the same issues to the table at all. Seems like a reasonable line to draw

definitely a case-by-case basis.

Would greatly depend on how hot she is, whether she is batshit insane or not, how her husband died, and the kids themselves.

A lot would depend on the woman and her kid/kids. Especially the kids, as they can wreck a relationship in a second if they dislike the man.

funny you should mention that.

I know a woman that had her husband die.
That can happen but the kicker is that she bragged on FB about getting rid of her tattoo on her arm of her husbands name.

We figured she orchetrated his death.

And yes, trashy.
