Why chest pains?
All I’ve heard thus far is Fever, Cough, Shortness of breath.
In more severe cases (about 14 percent), some people with COVID-19 have reported chest pain and have developed pneumonia, an inflammation of the lungs caused by infection. - https://www.google.com/amp/s/feeds.aarp.org/health/conditions-treatments/info-2020/covid19-symptoms.html%3f_amp=true

Damn. We got us the corona here in Tennessee now. Right in my own county. Better go wash my hands.
Do you best to practice good hygiene: wash your hands before eating and after touching common items and make sure to try to not touch your face without washing your hands first.

Is there anyway we could change the title of this thread to like "Official Coronavirus Thread" or something? We've still got the same thread title about Wuhan that we had over a month ago, even though this has spread way beyond Wuhan now.

50% of my colleagues live in Williamson Co.
It'll be 25% in two weeks, according to some around here.

It did turn out to be a shockingly convient experiment.

I haven't seen anyone argue that washing your hands is a 100% guarantee that one won't get coronavirus. Washing hands, however, can help since so many germs can get to your face, nose, and mouth via your hands. Hand washing is a good idea, regardless of coronavirus, to try to prevent catching other viruses like the flu and stomach bugs, which are going around a lot this year.

Yes right now signs are pointing to around a 0.1% CFR in healthy adults under 60 or 70, and closer to 1% for the elderly patient. Still think it could get higher for patients over 70 when the number of cases grows and hospitals run out of ventilators.
I hope part of that new emergency spending bill goes to starting to order a bunch of extra ventilators.

The good news is that there have probably been 100 cases in Williamson County for a week or longer

I've read somewhere (maybe this thread) that this virus appears to be carried by animals (such as cats) and has been going back and forth to humans. Does the seasonal flu also act this way?
Would going back and forth between animals and humans increase the risk for mutated strains that become more virulent in the future?
