Fun bump. I agree with a previous poster, from a personal level, I would have never known Covid as a thing if it wasn’t in the news. Not a single person close to me has had any major sickness I’ve the last 4 years that would have risen any suspicion

Yep, I had one acquaintance who went literally from one extreme - masked hysteria and extreme fear of contracting it to militant anti-vaxer in a matter of months.
Quite the transformation to watch. And very committed and convicted to both extremes while in each.

The hysteria in this thread for the first 700 pages was amazing to watch. I got destroyed for saying all that needed to be done was to protect the elderly and let everyone else go about our lives. Some of the same posters who wanted a St Louis man put in jail for going to a daddy daughter dance are the ones who are strongly anti-Covid vax right now.

I think it might be a little more than that for me, and I am fairly isolated. Then again, I am in my 50's, I got it and was on my arse for a week. It was basically Mono I had as a teenager. Same for my wife.
From a different perspective, if the entire thing had happened pre-internet but post cable news networks, it would have been the lead story a few weeks and that's it. Pre cable television and its "a bad flu season and after the break, Ken is here with the sports"
