This is a welcome respite from the normal OT dog story: Rainbow Bridges, Pit Bulls eating faces, and Pugs getting launched off of balconies.

Heard they swim the return 7 faster. Something to do with child's flesh as high energy resource.

It was a yacht the size of a house, do you know where your dogs are at all times at your house?

Our one year old corgi, Shrimp, runs 15+ miles a day.

Those good boys got some energy.

Yes, in point of fact I do. It’s called being responsible. And you have to be even more
Diligent when you put pets on a boat. If not, leave them at home.

So the dog fell overboard, swam ~100' to shore, the boat kept going for 7 miles before Atwood noticed she was missing and they make the headline that the dog swam 7 miles?

WTF is wrong with media and people and truth today?

Still happy af for little Corgi! Great story

It really is unknown when the dog went overboard. But yes 7 miles is probably no where near accurate. It wa s7 miles from where they discovered the dog was missing to where they found it.

Why would anyone think "Space Coast Daily" is going to be a fair and reliable news source?

No one is going to read "Corgi swam 100 yards to safety." They need the clicks, hence the lurid headline.

That's pretty incredible. Poor pup..

But this shite sucks.

quote:

Unfortunately, he received many calls that involved people attempting to scam him, saying they had found the dog but needed payment before they would send a picture.

There are people who will pounce on these opportunities. Years ago someone I know lost a puppy. I'll leave the details out so its not a long arse story.

But he and his wife made signs, put them up and the next day they received a call from someone who claimed they knew the person who has their puppy and that they would bring it to them. They told them a time and said they would be at the corner of their street. They go there, a car pulls up. A person gets out and tells him that the puppy is in the car, but they wanted $200 or they would leave.

They showed him the puppy, he went home to get $200 and got the dog back. At the time his only kid was his daughter who was a toddler at the time. She was excited when they showed that they had the dog, there was nothing else for him to do but give them the money and get the dog.. I would have been absolutely furious.

Counterfeit cash is a no no.. But if you ever have an opportunity to get some, it would be good to have just in case you are ever in a situation like this.
