These were my favorite of my brother's hand me downs from the 70's

Mine from the 80's

This one represents the pinnacle of 80's toy guns. Back when water and cap guns could actually look like real guns. It had a removable magazine that caught the spent roll of caps. I freaked the neighbors out with this one:

I still have a Great Mazinga robot (with all the missiles) in my home office.

When I was a kid I had a Rodan figure from that same line of toys. I could kick myself for not taking better care of it and eventually throwing it away when I got older. There's a new-in-box Rodan going for $7,500 on Ebay right now. Even pieces of a Rodan are worth hundreds.

K-Mart sold these when I was in elementary school….

It started with me and some of my friends bringing them to school to play war on the playground during recess. It grew into virtually every boy in 2nd grade getting a toy M-16 and bringing it to school to join in on the playground war. We even had girls join in and serve as nurses helping the wounded back to the aid station. I can’t remember how long we kept it up, but for a while everyday at recess we basically had 30-40 boys fighting one hell of a firefight with toy M-16s.

I still have one of these. It’s the smaller die cast version.

Holy shite, dude. I thought I was the only person that ever owned one of those. Got mine for Christmas, drove the nails in the street, filled it up with fuel, twisted the back wheels to crank it, and let it go.

My idiot neighbor tried to run beside it in a race and stepped on top of it, breaking it. I had one run, and it was done. Hated that mf'er ever since.

I still have mine at my mom's house. Last time I checked, it still worked.

I didn't even know the Iwo Jima version of that existed! I would sacrifice a small child to have that!!! (Of course, that would be the neighbor's small child that squawks and hollers and shrieks all day.)

Seriously, that is awesome! I am freaking jealous!

Clackers were the rage until they got taken off the market.

Clackers were taken off the market in the United States and Canada when reports came out of children becoming injured while playing with them. Fairly heavy and fast-moving, and made of hard acrylic plastic, the balls would occasionally shatter upon striking each other.
