I saw one for the Red Cross. If that’s what they’re using donations for you’re better off giving to the local food bank.

I recently saw an ad for AMC Theaters and it occurred to me that until now, movie theaters have been able to rely on trailers the studios produce to serve as advertising for their services.

With theater attendance hurting in a post-covid world, AMC had to make an ad promoting the movie-going experience. It's an odd thing to see.

Are Coca-Cola, McDonald's, Wal-Mart and their ilk so ingrained in our everyday lives that they could stop running ads and still rake-in billions every year?

Are you assuming that companies spend money on advertising just to blow money? Fwiw, some companies actually do as they may be contractually obligated.

Would a company like Coca-Cola go bankrupt if they didn't advertise at all? Absolutely not.

But on average companies spend a lot of time and money on advertising for proven reasons.

Pfizer, Moderna & J&J aren’t running ads
Instead our tax dollars are paying for generic vaccine advertisements

Pfizer is sponsoring a lot of shows right now. They're running ads

Of course not. I was just wondering if some brands or companies are so established that they might be able to get by without it. Take Funyuns, for example...

If time is money, then Tigerdroppings. I give them way too much time without ever seeing a commercial for them...

If Tiger Droppings ever runs a TV ad, its spokesperson has gotta have a New Iberia haircut. This is non-negotiable.

Never understood garbage company ads in my market. Local governments decide which company gets to run in each district, I have no individual say. I do remember the disaster when the FQ gave residents options and they would often have 2-3 different trucks trying to work around those street; so I'm sure there are areas where it may matter

Also, what is the point of gas companies ads? I imagine the 2 largest factors in picking a gas station is convenience and $$$

Youtube was running onlyfans ads a while back before the actual video I wanted to watch. Of course I would get accused of visiting the website, because why else would the ad show up. It took some convincing to make her believe otherwise.

Are there any corporations, goods, or services that could cease all advertising tomorrow and not take much of a hit in their bottom line or lose much market share?

tampons and pads, they are like toilet paper, you WILL buy them because you have no choice and brand is a preference choice but isnt all that important as long as you can get some when you need it
