I have two at two different Universities and have talked to other parents whose kids are getting their Fall schedules and they are noting that almost all classes are not in-person or hybrid but online.

These money machines did not want to lose their precious money from dorms and such and feared students deciding to go to a local college cheaper if classes were to be online so they LIED and acted as if it were to be much closer to normal.

Higher education in this country still has not had the reckoning and reconstruction it needs to be effective but it is coming.

Hopefully this pandemic hoax finally destroys hire education once and for good.

Looks like someone didn't need a pandemic for that

Would not pay the tuition. I'd have my kid take a gap year instead. Online education is close to worthless.

Well, yeah.

I read an article where a school admin was acting appalled that students wanted their money back this Spring since they wouldn't be in dorms, using the cafeteria, gym, etc. Finding the article would be tough and I don't have much time, but his comments basically boiled down to "Students should be thankful their universities offer them so much in the first place."

I'm not one to side with whiny college kids who feel like they have been wronged by the world, but in this instance I feel for a lot of them. I'm in school right now and I have 2 in person classes this fall. I chose to enroll in person because I know that I will have some issues and be able to ask questions in a classroom setting. If they revoke that, I'm going to raise hell until something's done.

If you pay for a service, and a business (which is what college has become) fails to provide that service, you are owed a refund.

People on the subreddit for UofSC were complaining that some of their classes had been switched to online only recently.

Its not the same, but its also an easy way to knock out some tough classes. What else are they going to do - sit around your house and play Xbox?

Actually a pretty good Freudian slip, even if it is just a typo.

I believe most people felt this way and that is why colleges hid the truth. To pay the current rates for a dorm or apartment and still have classes online is ridiculous and the SOBs who did this bait and switch should be held accountable.

I was reading about the law students who graduated last May from law school who were unable to take the bar exam this Summer because of Covid and concerns that many State Bar Associations are going to cancel the fall bar exam too leaving these students unable to practice law.

Until I saw other people giving you sh*t about this, I thought it was some "right wing woke" phrase like proggie. Figured it had to do with the Left taking over education, or the Chinese placing their people in those positions.

You should come back and enlighten us about this.
