It was additional available instruction for their inclusivity training. Corporate execs didn't mandate it, but they did include it.
Doesn't mean a middle manager or director didn't mandate it. Which seems to be the case here.

Don’t get me wrong, they are run by SJW kooks, for sure, (Their requirements for diversity inclusion in interviewing, for example, are beyond ridiculous.) but, at the same time, they are taking a hit they don’t really deserve here.
