I’ve read the prosecutor was really bad. We shall see. I think she needs to be locked away for life, doesn’t belong in society. Mental illness doesn’t mean kill and walk away, it means not fit for society.

I don't know the background, but how the heck did this jury settle on 3 men and 9 women? Terrible setup for the prosecution.

My issue is with the law itself. Even if true insanity and psychosis exists it shouldn’t matter. You still fricking did it

Agreed, it should be illegal to have the setup in states like Massachusetts, where the burden is on the prosecution to prove a defendant is not insane, as opposed to most states where the burden is on the defense to prove insanity.
But, in this case, we have the research she did the day of and days leading up to, the phone call in the middle of the killings, and the order of the killings as strong indicators of premeditation and rational thought (as far as how to go about the killings in the most effective way). The odds that some demon voice magically possessed her for 18 minutes, while letting her act normal on a phone call in the middle of the acts, are basically zero. If this ***** skates then all female murderers will start to try to use this made up defense.

What I don’t understand is why isn’t “ being hammered drunk” a defense?
Because that could easily be proven. Say someone with like a .2 BAC commits murder. Actual blood tests can prove that and it would be clear the person was out of their mind

The issue here is that in almost any state in the US outside of Massachusetts, this would not have gone to trial. That is because most states require that, when you do a defense of mental defect, the defense is then required to prove that the defendant has, in fact, suffered a mental defect. In MA, it's the other way around; the state has to prove there were not..
Once the defense puts forward enough evidence that her mental state is in question, prosecutors have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she was legally responsible. They can do that in one of two ways. Either she did not have a mental disease or defect when it happened, or she did have one but she still understood that killing the children was wrong and could have stopped herself.

There was a time not long ago when the gender of the jury would not have mattered in a case where a woman murders her kids

This trial has been wild with the way seemingly normal women have been reacting. Spiking the football when she walks will be a sight to behold and I don't want to hear another fricking word from anyone who celebrates the shite. This bitch choked the life out of 3 small children. You don't just die immediately. Shooting them would've been fricking better.

This is true, but this case has been such a tidal wave of reversal of that.
Women, even seemingly normal women that I know, have been heavily, heavily manipulated by Social Media into taking her side on this one.
I find it hard to believe that any of the men that heard the husband's 911 call are going to vote not guilty

that goes for more than just this topic. it has rotted their brains across the board. all you have to do is find someone with a soothing voice who is "just asking questions", add generic podcast music and a slightly girlpower angle, and you can make them believe absolutely anything.
