Well, the jury has already met for 4 hours according to Boston.com, and supposedly it's better for the defendant if the jury meets for longer.

She will get off.

Women will spike the football as a win.

Men will become even more disenchanted with the modern female.

The gap between men and women will widen even more.

In a trial like this with all the possible verdict outcomes and considerations, if they come back today, that would be considered quick. If it gets through day 2 and into day 3, then you’re teetering into hung territory.

I think she might get off unfortunately.

I’ve seen a lot of online lawyers talking about what a good job the defense did with a tough case and what a poor job the prosecution did.

I think they find her guilty of first degree murder. There was a ton of planning on her part to get her husband out of the house so she could murder her kids uninterrupted and then fumble the attempt on herself.

But I will never underestimate the power of stupid people, women in this case who might feel sorry for her, and find her not guilty by reason of insanity.

The prosecution would take a mistrial all day.

It's basically like a dress rehearsal.

That said, the jury pool will be especially poisoned by dogooder Karens.

God forbid they feel sorry for the children who she choked to death. I'm sure they barely register as actual victims.

You need to understand.

There is no group that cares less for their offspring than the modern progressive female.

The children are irrelevant and simply a hindrance to their comfort.

They don’t see the children as victims. They probably don’t even see them as human.

Lindsay Clancy is “scared” as the jury continues its second day of deliberations to determine whether she is guilty of killing her three children in 2023, her defense lawyer said Friday.

“She’s nervous. Sad. Scared. Same as she has been,” Clancy’s attorney Kevin Reddington told reporters at the courthouse Friday, according to NBC Boston.

I'm generally an opponent of capital punishment, but this woman is pure evil and should be put down with the quickness. Do you think your 3 small children were scared when you choked the life out of them one-by-one?

I'd say we're looking at 80%+ odds of a hung jury at this point.

I said this in the other thread

Do you think it’s completely unreasonable to say she was insane? I would bet you don’t. Which means the correct ruling for you would be NGRI

That’s the problem. It’s not unreasonable at all to think she was insane. And as the written law is stated that means she is NGRI. The problem is the law, not people saying she was insane

A person can think:

She is a monster
I hate her

And also think it’s reasonable to believe she may have been insane

In fact I’d say the above is how most people feel. And because of that , and because of the shitty law, NGRI is the “correct” verdict

In honesty, I don’t think the prosecution came even close to proving beyond all reasonable doubt she wasn’t insane

I’ve watched the trial. The CW asked the mother in law about mortal sin. If LC wins on appeal, that could be one of the reasons. You cannot bring in theology like that.
They’ve come across not as professional and rational, but as two women on a personal vendetta.

This coming not too long after the Karen Read mistrial and pretrial makes me wonder WTF is going on with the Massachusetts Judicial system.

It is a circus any time they try a case with any profile it seems. How are they so bad at this?

Probably every woman on the jury is describing that time they were depressed and how they understand what the defendant went through.

I agree with everything you post.
But you aren't exactly identifying the real issue.

You can be insane and still responsible for your actions. There are levels. Or nuance.
The legal definition and medical definition are not 1:1.

I still think the prosecution flubbed the trial.
But it wasnt as if this was a hopeless case to begin with.

The Clancy defense has in their favor a long history of mental illness with a long track record of "mid" results from the medical establishment. That is a big obstacle to overcome, because you can kind of see the train wreck coming in hindsight.

The other challenge for the prosecution is the "fact" of what psychosis is. What would psychosis look like?
Despite no psychosis before that date, the actions of the defendant mirror a text book definition of psychosis.
Medically going forward, the diagnosis is obvious.

The last two paragraphs withstanding, the prosecution has to prove mens rea. And in my opinion, they got sidetracked trying to fight the notion of mental illness. They got sidetracked trying to fight the two paragraphs that they really couldn't punch holes through.

Watching women especially young women react to this case has me of the Mind that I almost wouldn't care if my son ends up telling me he's gay.
