Yes, quite the uprising.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but, we need to see how far we can go before you don't let us go anymore.

Shut down all food and supplies to the governor’s mansion along with any other place the politicians along with the governor is staying.

That scares me that you say that but there’s been >26000 deaths in the US. How many have to die to be considered enough?

Closing down the lawn and garden sections must have sent Michigan citizens over the edge.

Every life is sacred, except when it inconveniences capitalism I guess.

Throwing the nation into something that could be worse than the Great Depression would be quite a bit worse than simply "inconveniencing capitalism".

Hell yeah, let’s go sit in traffic voluntarily for a few hours. That’ll show em !!!

I’m sure the police will side with the Constitution if they are ordered to disperse a peaceful assembly of citizens taking part in a Constitutiinally protected activity.

You are right it is, but suicides will dwarf the covid numbers if we continue down this same path and use the suicide rates of the unemployed from the great recession. frick those people though right? frick all those that will die from being out of work or those that will die from hunger?
And since you reminded me, 1.5ish million people die every year from car accidents, we could prevent 90+% of those if we lowered the speed limit to 25, do you feel that is a good idea?
But since you want to use a strawman argument, what conservative principle says that the measures being used by the government are ok?
I can tell you that the principle of protection of personal property applies to what you are referring to.
Bottom line is the libertarian/conservative view point is you are responsible for yourself. You are responsible for maintaining your health. If you are at risk, quarantine and don't leave the house. Period. With grocery delivery, don't tell me it's not possible, it is. Sanitize everything before it comes in or only order items that can sit in the garage or porch for 3 days.
Start preparing your body as much as possible in the coming weeks in case you get the virus, that means exercising like never before. That means losing body fat if you are overweight, strengthening the lungs, heart etc.
But in the end,
quote:go frick yourself. If you want big government and then change the Constitution, until then frick off.

If you’d like to go at it discussing this, I’m happy to do it. But it won’t be pretty for you.
A capitalistic, industrial society has moved more people worldwide out of poverty, increased life expectancies, and reduced major health issues; than any other program, government, or economic approach.

Yes, that is the motto of the pro-life, conservative crowd for sure. Thanks for bringing that up.
