Civil disobedience begins, massive protest planned in Michigan for Wednesday

Residents of Michigan, angry about what they see as overbearing executive orders by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, have a planned a massive protest around the state capitol on Wednesday.
The Michigan Conservative Coalition has organized “Operation Gridlock,” which will likely see protesters in their cars, honking horns, and clogging streets.
“Everyone, every citizen, every business owner needs to get out of their house, out of their chair, and get in their car, or truck, or anything that is legal to drive on taxpayer funded roads,” the group said.
Gov. Whitmer accused the DeVos family of being behind the protest, an accusation a family spokesman denied.
Whitmer said on Monday, Fox 17 reported.
“Contrary to the governor’s statements, the DeVos family hasn’t spent a dime on this protest nor has it offered prior support to the organizing entity,” Nick Wasmiller responded.
“The DeVos family, however, understand the frustration of fellow Michiganders as elements of the governor’s top-down approach appear to go beyond public safety.”
Whitmer defended ramping up her stay-at-home order and said she never banned the sale of American flags, car seats, or bug spray, and accused anyone who would claim such a thing of “political posturing.”
But over the weekend, pictures showing various items being blocked from sale flooded social media.

Whether the government likes it or not, whether we're ready or not, this bitch is about to open up. It's only right in a free society. Let the chips fall where they may and let history decide if the correct decision was made. Not nearly enough people have died over the last four weeks to justify a total shutdown. Time to move on and get on with our lives.

In the landscape of how states have handled COVID-19 Michigan is leading the pack in downright retarded decisions. It's almost like Harbaugh is a consultant.

Second person I know (who was healthy) died from covid yesterday.......I know the numbers aren’t small pox-worthy, but this thing could be VERY different if people disregard it totally.

I am not a fan of clogging up the streets.
Every conservative should agree with me. Unless they were full of shite complaining about people protesting in streets stopping traffic the last couple of years.
Eta: For the 21 downvotes, I'm not siding with the governor. She's obviously a loon and I'd love for her to be stopped, I just think this form of protest is dumb. And pretty much everyone here agreed when democrats were blocking roads. But now it's ok for conservatives to do it?
They need a better form of protest.

Is it true they banned the sale of seeds at places like Lowe’s?
They didn’t actually close Lowe’s you just can’t buy seeds?
How does that make any sense? Wouldn’t growing your own food allow you to go to the grocery store less?

It has only been a couple weeks since he was checking with the OT to see if it were permissable to go outside for a walk...the revolution is going to take some time.

I'm sorry that you've lost two friends, but statistically this is an anomaly.
Approximately 30 of the 4.6M people in Louisiana have succumbed to COVID-19 without having previous health conditions.
